Bathing Suit for Big Bust

Hey ladies!

I am a large busted woman (38DD) and cannot find a bathing suit! Every year this is stressful for me. I finally found one a few years ago with a built in underwire bra with the eyelets on the back hidden inside that really held me in. They longer make this suit or anything like it. Please give me all of your ideas for bathing suits, even if there is someone who makes them to order. I must have a built in bra, the underwire with padding does not help, I don't want to have to continue to 'scoop and tuck' the whole time, I loved how my old one just held them in place. I am not a one piece wearer or bikini wearer, I prefer a tankini.
thanks ladies!

So What Happened?

Hi ladies! Thanks so much for all of your responses! I have tried Land's End and it may have to do again. I got spoiled with FREYA that has the built in bra and it held me so "they" didn't move, amazing support. too bad they don't make that suit anymore. :o) I am going to check out all of your websites that you have told me about and hope that one works! I may have to not be so picky but I like my 'girls' to not move so I will keep hunting until I run out of time and head into summer season!
Thanks so much! W.

I'm the same size & I have really liked the Land's End suits with the under wire bras. If it wasn't for those, I'd be swimmimgn in a t-shirt and shorts! LOL
Good luck!

Try Land's End....they mix and match and I love their tankinis. The tops don't have a built-in bra but I still feel secure and am 36DD. Also they offer normal bottoms and but I really like their skirt bottoms.

Lane Bryant has AWESOME bathing suits for large chests (I'm a 44DD). And they sell separate pieces so you can get a smaller bottom if needed.

Also, the style of the top plays a role in support - a halter top can give more support

Go to intimacy.com I love their Prima Donna bras. They don't have an online store, but you can look at the brands of swimsuits. Freya has good ones. Also, I love this site www.barenecessities.com. You can find swimsuits up to size K. Good luck! I have the same problem as I am a 36G.

OMG, I thought I was the only one constantly SCOOPING AND TUCKING! I am a 36-38DD, and Lands End suits are fantastic. They have mix and match tankinis, and many suits that come with different BRA SIZED TOPS, with lots of options, padding, underwires, etc. I have 2 that have bras in them, with the hook in back, etc. Their suits with underwires/padding do provide good support, in my experience, and I am very prone to heaving out the top of other suits, which I loathe.

They are a little pricey, but if you check out their OVERSTOCKS online, there are always lots to choose from at a pretty good discount. And the suits are great quality, and last for years. The other plus, is that the suits can be returned to any Sears store, so you don't have to pay shipping to return them. AND, if you buy something that doesn't fit, and you return it, if you decide to try a different suit or a different size, they won't charge you shipping on your reorder... you just have to do the reorder over the phone, rather than online, and tell them it's a reorder, and they will remove the shipping cost. So you only end up paying one shipping charge until you find the right suit. (And I've done this, so it is true.)

The only thing I'd say is that I find the tops run a tiny bit big, so if you are debating sizes for the top, go with the smaller...

One last thing... If you have any questions when looking at the suits, definitely utilize their online chat/personalized shopper feature. I've done this several times, and they will answer ANY questions you have regarding how the suits are made, measurements, comparisons between suits, etc.

I am a 36DD and bought a great tankini top online at Lands End last year. They make some with the built in bra. Also, figleaves.com. I would look at Land's End first because if it doesn't fit, you can return it to Sears/Kmart.

I hate buying bathing suits!!!! I'm a 36 dd but I'm tiny everywhere else and I have never found a bathing suit that fits right. If it fits my boobs it's too big everywhere else if it its my tummy and butt I cannot squeeze my top half into it.....sigh.....

I like to go to Everything but Water at the mall. I am very petite (size 2) but have natural perky 34DD.

I buy separates... I larger halter type for my boobs to keep them in and then I can still get a petite bottom that fits nicely.

Good luck..

So my best friend has this exact problem. She was spending $100+ on swimsuits to get a good one. Then last year she found the perfect suit which she loved and cost $20 at all places walmart. I have seen this same suit there just a few weeks ago. It is a tankini. She has had hers since last year and it is still in good condition. I hope you find something that works for you.

You may not need "plus size" on bottom but if you look for plus sized suits online you can find suits that swear they are as comfortable and as form fitting as wearing your own bra. I am the same size on top and I was able to find a suit last year at JC Penney's that has a built in bra. I still feel like I could pop out of it. I may break down and go the online route this year, I just hate the idea of buying a suit I have not tried on, that and they can be pricey the last two I looked at were both over $100...lots of luck.
