I have no idea what to pay a babysitter. She is 14. I will only be having her watch on a saturday night once in a while so my husband and I can get out.

What can I do next?

I won't pay more that $4.00/hour. For 1: my son is 17mo old, there isn't much that the B.S. has to do. 2: I have food and plenty to drink in the frig for her to snack up on. 3: She is always sitting on her butt when we come home watching a movie when Seth is sleeping, what more does she need to be paid. hahaha, maybe I'm just cheap...I don't know!

I had to find sitters for my four year old sister all the time, and I just paid out a flat rate. Usually 15-20 bucks. If she had to do dinner and a bath then the 20....I just based it on what she did that night.

We too have a 14yr sitter we use once in a while. She charges $2.50 an hour. If the girl does a lot of babysitting, ask her what she charges. We had one girl charge $6 an hour. That's crazy! I'd say $3 at the most. I could be wrong, this is our first child also. Our sitter told us what she charged so that's what we went with.
