My husband and I have decided we have completed our family. Our youngest is a year old and I am finished breast feeding. Nursing two boys has left me with less than satisfactory breasts. After much discussion and thought, I have decided to have my breasts augmented to get the fullness I lost. I realize many women will find this vain and unecessary, but it is something I feel I need to do. So with that said, I am curious to hear some feedback from any women who have been through this. Is the recovery awful? Are you happy with your result? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks:)

What can I do next?

I had posted a question regarding tummy tucks a while back, but got a ton of great feedback (some from women who had their breasts done).

Of all my friends that have had a breast augmentation, not one has regretted it and most say they only wished they had done it sooner!

Regardless of any negative feedback you may get, you do what's best for YOU. Best wishes and good luck for a speedy recovery!! :)

After 4 kids, BF'ing and years upon years of thinking about it, I finally took the plunge and got implants last summer. I went from a small B to a D. I can honestly say that the recovery was a lot easier than I had ever thought it would be. I am VERY happy with my results...

I see your in Kansas...if you are close to Oklahoma City, I would highly recommend Dr. Metcalf. I drove 3 hours from Texas for my surgery b/c he came HIGHLY recommended and it was several thousand dollars cheaper in Oklahoma than Dallas.

Good luck!!

I am looking into this myself but for other reasons, I am in my eyes deformed in regards to my breasts, I have an A cup and a C cup and this is what I want for me, and good for you making the choice for you. I have not much to say on recovery or any of those things first hand but I do want to let you know there is someone here who gets your choice and I hope you end up with what you want and maybe you can tell me what the recovery time is afterwards! My words of advice to you are to see and get consultations from a few diff drs before you make your decision, they all have different views on this and on what people should get.

I did it for me and noone else~ I don't think it's vain at all (if your doing it for the right reasons).... Depending on the doctor, will depend on your pain... And your threshold for pain... I "literally" was walking around my house the minute I got home from my surgery talking on the phone, eating, etc.. I have a friend though that was in bed for 5 days because she was in sooooo much pain... I have about 10 friends that have had it and only 2 have been in a lot of pain.. DO YOUR RESEARCH THOUGH!!!!!!!! Go to a few different doctors for consultations...

I remember a post "I want boobs!" and it's by Lady J. Very funny and she got a lot of responses. Maybe you can find it.

My best friend had this done last year. She would tell you that her son "sucked away" her boobs! :)

She had hers done under the chest muscle. The procedure cost about $10K, and she had a 2 week recovery. She said the first couple of days were really awful. Felt like a ton of bricks sitting on her chest, and her chest in a vice. She couldn't lift her son (or anything) for that time frame. She felt a ton better the second week, and was totally back to normal after that.

She looks great, and they look very natural.

Good for you for getting this done! I wish I could afford my tummy tuck!

I didn't have it done buy my daughter did. I went down to take care of her and her kids and fully expected to be taking care of an invalid - surprise, surprise..!! She was in a lot of pain the first couple of days and I had to wash her hair for her but by weeks end we were going out to lunch with her friends to show off "the girls". She loves them and hasn't regretted getting it done. The same thing happened to my mom with my younger sister.

I don't have advice for you, but I'm planning on doing the same thing when I'm done having kids...I think of it as reconstructive surgery. Don't know why anyone would feel they have to judge you. Good luck.

I completely support your decision! More power to ya sista!!!! I intend to have a tummy tuck some day...Since I did not BF...the "girls" have stayed right in place LOL! However, with 3 c-sections the breadbasket needs a major overhaul. Good lukc I wish I knew someone in your area...I have no doubt you will feel better about yourself :)

Can't give you feed back from myself, but I have friends who have had it done for the same reason. Not vain at all in my opinion. Of course one day I plan to do it too. My breast are flat now, still big, just flat from breastfeeding. Go for it. When you find a doc, check his references and ask his patients what they thought and if they like the work he has done. If he won't give you the info, find someone else. Good luck and God Bless.

A lady at our office has had four surgeries. From what she said the problem is as you get older they will go south so you have to fix that, apparently in her case over and over. She is now sixty and looks pretty much flat chested. She would have been bigger now had she done nothing.

I am not sure if this is the norm but it may be something to ask your doctor about. I had looked into breast reduction and my doctor said I would have to have touch ups from time to time as well.
