I had 7 treatments done on Underarms, Full Legs and Full Brazilian... it wasn't too painful except the Brazilian and has thinned my hair considerably. I have a 2 year warranty that included free treatments and I will be using them. I also had very dark hair, it will NOT work on any blond, light red or grey hair. FYI :-)

Like the other said, it will never get rid of it all!

Good Luck!

I did a 5 treatment series on my legs. It took awhile because I was pregnant during much of it. My hair is very dark and I was shaving like every other day. I also had that issue where you could see the dark roots in my lower leg even after I had shaved. Now, the hair isn't all totally gone. What does grow in is very soft and I don't shave nearly as often. The dark root problem is gone too. I think it was worth it. If I had extra money I would go get more treatments to try to minimize what's still growing in. I always heard it was a reduction process but probably would never totally get rid of all of it. I could be wrong about that.

I had 7 or 8 laser treatments last year on my chin and upper lip. I had it done at a dermatologist's office and used the numbing cream. I can't imagine what it would have felt like without it, because it was painful with it. I was able to deal with the discomfort by asking the nurse to give me a minute to compose myself again. It was like recovering from a contraction and I did use my lamaze breathing.

I always had a dark mustache ... or I thought it was dark until I started growing whiskers after the birth of my first child. It was only a few, so I could handle it by plucking them. When I was pregnant with my second, the whiskers went away and then came back with a vengeance after I delivered.

That second child just turned 24 and over those years my beard got thicker and more noticeable. My husband does not have a lot of facial hair, but my family are very hairy. That was okay because they were guys though! I was at the point where I was having to shave every day and I'd still have a shadow.

My mom offered to give me the treatments as a gift, and it's the best gift besides life she has ever given me. I was feeling so unfeminine.

Since I'm in my early 50's, the treatment was not as successful as I would have hoped. As another poster points out, it does not recognize gray or white so it did not get rid of them, but it did do a good job on the whiskers that were still black.

I noticed this weekend that I have some more dark hairs sprouting, so I may need to go back for a follow up later. I still have to remove the white hairs myself, but it's a lot easier to deal with them than the dark ones.

It's a shame insurance will not cover facial hair removal for women like me whose genes predispose us to facial hair. It was a big boost to me to have the procedure. Other strategies just were not working.

My treatments cost about $700. For use at this time in our lives, that is a huge amount of money. My mother had treatments before I did. She went ahead and got her legs done and her eyebrows. Most places will not do eyebrows because the risk for accidental blindness because of a slip of the laser is too great.

I can live with leg hair and underarm hair. I can even live with the hair on the inside of my thighs and my bikini line. (Like I would dream of wearing a bikini these days!) People can just deal with that if I happen to go out unshaven, but walking around like a bearded lady from the circus is another matter.

My brothers are so hairy that one of their down time pleasures is to quit with shaving. I've felt like that about my legs. I'd just as soon wear pants. I'm also very near-sighted, so I'm a crummy leg shaver. Invariably, I'm getting dressed or I'm at my destination. I look down at my legs and discover I've missed half of the top of one of my legs.

I had full leg done and love it! I have suffered for years (since I was 13) with lots of hair. This has changed my life for the better in reducing the pain/blood- letting/frustration of shaving and or waxing.

No problems, side effects for me. Just some redness immediately after. I hear other areas of the body can be a bit more sensitive. Hang in there - it is worth it!

I am doing it right now....have done 3 treatments on my bikini and 2 treatments so far on my legs, and I feel it is the best money I have ever spent...short of the epidural with my two kids :) Anyway, I used to have to shave my legs either every day or every other day, and sometimes would get stubble stepping out of the shower because it was cold. But, now I don't shave at all really. I do have a few hairs here and there that I still need to get rid of, but as others have said it is very soft and thin hair. I think the laser works best on thick dark hair which may be why mine has worked great so far. I will say though that it does get more painful after the first session when then turn up the intensity of the laser. But, hang in there, and good luck!!

I had 6 treatments done to my underarms. I had no problems, but it has been a few years, and the hair has grown back. I have to shave everyday. I want to go again, since it was nice while it lasted, and I am still hoping that it will be permanent. I am pregnant right now though, so I plan to go after this baby is born.

I would take some Advil about a half hour before I went though, and that seem to help it not sting as bad.

I've had my lip/chin, underarms and bikini area done. I LOVE IT!! I used to have to pluck my face every day, but now I have a few here and there that need to be done.

I do get red around the area done, but it does get better each time you do it (you have less hair). I know they advise against it, (I started before the advice) but cold compresses help reduce the redness. Also, keep some aloe in the fridge and put that on it, it realy helps. Hang in there, it really helps!! You do have to get a "touch up" about once a year, but still, well worth it!!

Good luck!!

Hi A. I will have my last treatment next week on my lower legs and bikini area. I am disappointed with the results. I assumed it was total hair removal but it is not. I still have to shave about once every 7 or 8 days. I'm sure they want you to purchase more treatments that's why they tell you at the end you get discounted treatments. Also I didn't use the cream for numbing until about the 4th treatment and I will tell you you WILL need it. They turn up the laser every time and by then it is very painful. I also got some burns around my knee and ankle bones. I hope you have better results than I did and I went to a very well known place, Sona. I guess they should tell you it's not TOTAL hair removal.

I have had 5 treatments, full Bikini, and underarms. LOVE IT. Very Very painful. Put on the cream at least 1.5hrs BEFORE your treatment, and liberally. My legs are more blond so I didn't even try them. But my underarms worked really well. Bikini, is thinned but not gone by any means. I still think it was worth the money. Also went to Sona, I do think they told me that it is not a guarentee that all the hair is removed but could be reassessed after the 5th session. It is worth it if you have dark, to black hair.

I have finished 2 rounds so far. I've noticed that it is growing in slower and finer. Don't skip the numbing cream!
