If this is a relatively new tablet you have one of two problems. 1. A faulty charger/cord 2. A faulty tablet. If that's the case return it.

If it's an older tablet (2-3 years old or so) then the battery probably needs replaced. Even rechargeable batteries have a finite number of times the can be recharged.

Have you tried a different cord? The cord itself could be faulty, or it could be the charging port on the tablet itself.

First, try a new cord and see if that fixes the problem. If it still doesn't take a charge, check and see if there is something in the charging port on the tablet that could be keeping things from connecting.

My hubby got a really nice tablet, and it came with a "wall wart" charger, and a separate cord... you can plug the cord into either the wall wart or the computer. His "wall wart" is not working, so he ended up getting a different type of charger.

It might be broken, that does happen. Take it back and exchange it or see if the store can get the charger to work.
