Advice on Primrose of Bedford and Primrose of Mid-Cities(Hurst)

I am looking at these two Primrose schools mainly because of their location near my home and office. I am expecting my first baby and think I may go with a daycare over a nanny, but I'm not sure yet...so much anxiety and pressure to "do the right thing for the baby". I have heard a lot of great things about the Primrose schools. Does anyone have any experience with the one in Hurst or the one in Bedford?? I know there are other options out there as well for daycare. Any suggestions would be welcome!

What can I do next?

I am sorry, I don't know anything about Primrose but right around the corner from them is St. Timothy Presbyterian and all 3 of my children have gone/are going there. We absolutely love them-they are great! They are just about to start fall registration so it's perfect timing. Oh and the staff in the baby room-top notch, no kidding. They will take such good care of your sweet baby and just love on them like their own. HTH.

Hi K.,
I am sorry, I don't know anything about Primrose, but...

I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 20 month old that attend Campfire USA's Child Development Center near the corner of 820 and 35 off of Polaris. I live in Keller and work downtown and it is a GREAT location. One of the teachers in the infant room was my BIG deciding factor when I was going back to work and my little guy was 3 months old, she is absolutely incredible! She has also spent personal time with me when I have had parenting questions, I consider her a friend and mentor!!

I shopped around and interviewed about 20 daycare facilities near our house and picked Campfire. They are accredited for age appropriate academics, have viewing rooms for the parents, the building is safe, clean, and well maintained (actually just replaced all carpet, painted and have new Pier 1 Kids furniture). Their doors are secured with electronic keypads, and can be opened only with a passcode, the teachers are never (or very rarely) alone with the children and I can honestly say that I would trust any one of them to personally care for my children unattended any time... we LOVE them! All of the teaches are fantastic!!

Their lesson plans are FULL of great artistic, educational and fun activities (yes, even for the babies). Please let Hugh, the center director, know that I sent you. Hugh is a great guy who genuinely cares for the children with a passion!

Both of our children, ages 4 and 1, have been at Primrose since they were 3 months old. Primrose is so much more than just a daycare. The curriculum is outstanding and both kids are excelling because of it. The management as well as the teachers are always accessible for any questions or concerns. We couldn’t be happier that we chose Primrose.

My daughter is 9 now, but we had her at the one in Bedford when she was 21/2. And we did not have anything good to say about them. We had a problem with another child her age always beating up on her and other kids, but nothing was ever done. We complained to the owners, which was a joke, and we had 10 incidents against the boy. And they never dod anything. If its still a older guy that owns it?? Sorry for the bad news! I would rather tell great storys!!

I was fooled by Primrose in general. They are franchised and about the only thing the do better is CHARGE MORE!
My son went to the one near us, so perhaps yours are better. HOWEVER... I really think a licensed home care provider is best for infants. Usually less children, more controlled and home-ish. But that is a personal preference.
GOOD LUCK!

Primrose of Bedford is fantastic! I have both of my daughters there now and they are getting a quality early-education in a caring environment that also focuses on personal and world values. The location is actually further from our home that the one in Grapevine, but we loved the tour and have been very happy for the past three years. With daughters 18-months apart (in preschool and pre-K classes now), we have experienced lots of kids and different classroom settings and have been very pleased with all. The few problems we have had were handled promptly and confidentially. Good Luck!
