I have my own cleaning business and need to fill a few spots. I need some advice on how to advertise. I thought to go in a walmart parking lot and put our flyers on cars. My husband says no that would make people mad cause he hates when he gets those. It doesn't bother me but...What do you think would that be annoying? Then we have walked certain places and put flyers on doors but no luck yet. I would welcome any new ways!!! Thanks in advance

What can I do next?

Have you tried any internet advertising? We ran a profitable business for two years, and a huge mode of advertising was the internet. You can set up several things for free. Yahoo Local, Craigslist, Yellow Pages Online, etc. And if you have a website, that will bring in even more business. You can get a website up and running for as little as $10 a year. You can also see about putting up pull-tab flyers on various community boards in grocery stores and maybe libraries. Hope that helps!

Putting flyer on car windshields does not equal advertising. Your husband is right on this one; skip it. Have you noticed how many flyers end up on the ground?

I, too, have my own business, and there are tons of ways to advertise, many of them free. Craigslist is a good place to start. Community bulletin boards are another good free resource. Ask your current clientele for referrals; give them a discount if one of their friends schedules with you. Look into running an ad in local military newpapers. Does your business have a website? If not, get one! They are not all that expensive, and to keep it up-to-date, consider this: have a buddy who is web savvy be your webmaster. In return, clean your buddy's house for free once or twice a month.

Hi Donna,

How about inquiring at local churches? I know our Church puts out a flyer on Sunday and the last page is all local advertisers to help support the cost of the flyer. Good Luck.
