My offical due date is aug. 11th however For over 2 weeks I have been 70% efaced, and a little more than 1C dialated. I woke up this morning having major braxton hicks. They were 10 minutes apart for 50 minutes and then a little back labor, cramping and then nothing!! I was so sure I was ready to rock that I made sure to do all the last minute cleaning and have a little "me" time before I woke my husbamd up :( Well then at like 2 this afternoon I had to use the bathroom, sorry to be so graphic but when I went to wipe the toilet paper was filled with the mucus plug. Now I have been loosing my mucus plug for prob. the last 2 months, but never to this extent. So I called my Doc. and the nurse was excited and said that I should prob. go within 24 hours. Well now I sit and NOTHING!!!! Has anyone been in this situation before? This is my second child and I can't wait to meet him and see the look on my other sons face, I am sooo excited!! I have another doc. appt tom afternoon but with the hot humid weather we have been experiencing in my area (and no central air) I am starting to get impatient. So has anyone been in a similar situation and if so how long before you delivered?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well still no baby!! I went to my Doc. appt and he is now giving me the option to get induced in the morning. I am so torn should I or should I not? I really love my Doc. and if I want him to deliver my baby I can go in tom. or next Thus. AHHH any suggestions? I am now 75% efaced and 1 1/2C dialated.

I lost my plug a month before I was induced.
I had constant Braxton Hicks from like week 20 on though. But when they went to induce me I was exactly 37 weeks and I was 6 already. So I was makin all the progress and had no idea. I was in labor but I had no idea...
So you could be making good progress and not even know it and have a simple labor! Mine was super short and 2 pushes! Easy as can be.

Goodluck!

This is very similar to what happened with my first baby. Hopefully, you're at the hospital righ now having a baby! Good Luck! I had my baby the following day after my mucus plug came out.

Not to be too direct, but have sex! That will stir up all the hormones and the semen helps to bring on labor. Take a walk, do some heavy duty cleaning and eat some spicy food. All of these things could bring on labor-- try to think positively-- you won't be pregnant F.. Good luck and happy laboring!

I bet you have that baby by now. :) I had contrax for almost 3 hours, about 5-7 min apart a week before my baby came. I was teaching high school, and freaked all my kids out...got my maternity leave in order...and continued to teach between contrax...all the while hoping I didn't have to drive 45 min to my hospital from the school by myself! Then they quit, and that didn't happen again. I lost my mucous plug the day before I went into labor, but my labor was almost 3 days long, so it still took a while before I got to see my baby! Good luck!!!

First of all CONGRATS!! I'm excited for you :)

I lost a big chunk of the plug about 2-3 days before i delivered. I got sick too, like throwing up and feeling crappy in general. I got out of bed one morning, felt a rip, and then I was in labor! My water never did gush out, though. I'm not sure what the deal was with that. I think my daughter's head was plugging things up. They almost sent me home bc they told me my water didn't break--but I was definitely in labor. I urged them to check again, and they rolled their eyes, stuck their hands in, and then very quickly admitted me and got me some drugs lol. I was 4cm dilated. Anyway, that was more info than you were after, but I miss those days!! (crazy, i know. i remember thinking at the very end...why in the world did i want to do this again?!?!).

Well, I don't mean to be a party pooper, but I lost my mucus plug almost two weeks before my baby came. The doctor told me that while the average woman goes into labor within 48 hours of losing the plug, it is perfectly normal to lose it even a month before labor. However, in your situation, I'm sure it will happen soon. With all your contractions and other signs of labor, I would be shocked if you last much longer. Congratulations and I hope it comes quickly!! Yay!

I had a good 3 false starts with my second. It drove me nuts.

I ended up going into labor on my due date. You are close. Just hang in there. I know it's hard waking up every morning and not being "Done with it," but it will be soon enough.

Keep up your level of activity - walk, play with your other child, etc. The more active you are, the more likely you'll help speed along the body's natural processes. I wish you all the best!

Yep it took 2 weeks from the time I lost my plug to my delivery day. Sorry for bum news but am hoping that you go early! Try walking around as much as possible to increase any labor pains you may be having. If walking around doesn't do it..well mother nature says you may have to wait awhile. Keep your appt and see what your doc says. Good Luck!

You may not have lost all of the plug, but if you did it should be anyday.
I lost mine and had the baby within three days.

Mine was similiar. We were in and out of the doctor's office and I ended up being 12 days overdue. Hang in there, you won't be pregnant forever, even though it is hard to believe.

Hopefully that appt. tomorrow and the physical exam will get things rolling for real!!! As you know, each pregnancy is different and you can't expect things to go the same with as they did with your first child. My daughter lost her mucus plug almost 2 weeks before she delivered, so that is not a sure sign that you are ready.
Take your other child for a walk, sometimes exercise can help get things moving. Other than that, relax and enjoy these last few days with your child before the baby comes in to change your world again!!
Congratulations!!

You may already have had the baby...but just in case he's still waiting around inside you...Walk Walk Walk! That helped me get my little bundles out. And one other thing to think about... has the doctor mentioned stripping the membranes? It's completley up to you as the mom, but worth talking to your doctor about.

It was a day or two from when I lost my plug to when I went into the hospital. Your nurse is probably right, you'll likely go soon!

I went to 40 weeks with NO changes, nothing, nada. They decided to do an ultrasound if I did not have her by 41 weeks. At 40 weeks and 6 days, labor started. I went to the hospital at 1 cm and they wanted to send me home (about 8 pm) but by 11 my water broke. i had her the next day at 12. I was not in active labor that whole time--only maybe a couple of hours tops.
You never know what can happen.
