Your Dog and Other People's Homes - Part II

Just thought I'd give a good update on our dog with my parent's house. We went to my folks for a day around New Year's and of course, thought now what will we do with our dog? My husband made the snip that "well, we are all welcome in their home, except our dog..." - but as the day went - our daughter stayed with them so we could do some errands - and our dog stayed with us in our car. At the end of the day, I think he kind of forgot about it. And the next day, my folks came back with our daughter from an overnight stay with them - and my dad was very happy to see our dog. I think it reminded my hubbie that my dad and mom are okay with him at our home, just not at their's. He did mention again about them not wanting him in their home, but I think as long as they treat him well here, we are okay - for now, I hope. So far, we are making progress. Maybe it won't be so bad afterall...

Have a great New Year all...

L.

i have lost friends because they have had your husband's attitude. just because we have a dog doesn't mean we are thrilled to have everyone else's dogs here. folks who consider their dogs so much a part of their family that they must take them everywhere can just keep on truckin'.

I'm trying to process why you take the dog everwhere you go.

I knew a lady like that, she would not go anywhere without her huge german shepherd. Of course it always rode in her car with her too. She used the dog as an excuse not to do certain things.... I wonder if your husband might sort of be like that as well?

I'm glad it's working out for you, but I'm really hoping your husband grows up a little sometime soon.

But if you can put up with his immaturity on this issue, and he has lots of other great qualities, well, that's great!
