What is the best day for holding a yard sale? I heard Thursday due to pay day, but how many really get paid on Thursday vs Friday?

What can I do next?

Friday & Saturdays. Fridays are usually payday & a few people have or take it off. I personally feel Saturday's are the best because they have already gotten paid, are most likely off & are looking for something to do. If you are worried & are already taking the time to put a yard sale together I would suggest a 2-day garage sale (Friday & saturday). Take care.

Hi M....we just had a yard sale on a Saturday only and it was a huge success! I advertised the sale on Craigslist every day starting the Monday before the sale including the day of the sale. We had a ton of people :) Good luck!!!!

Weekends! Probably Fridays and Saturdays. Even if people get paid on Thursdays, most people still at work, so they can't get out to look. Also we get paid on Fridays.

If you advertise it, they will come! I think it should be what fits in to your schedule.

I say for sure Saturday. If you want it two days, then add Friday. But you will have great success on Saturday. There are a lot of people who make it a thing they do on the weekends - hit the yard sales. Good luck

In my experience, Saturday mornings are the way to go - there is quite a yard sale crowd that comes out early to get the best deals, and since it's a weekend it's more available for people to go to. Also, many people do a two-day sale, Fri. - Sat. Good luck on the sale!

If you were only going to pick one day, I would vote for Saturday. Lots of people work during the week, so I don't know why anyone would hold a yard sale on a Thursday - you would cut out a lot of potential customers that way. I loved to go garage sale-ing when I was working but could only go on weekends. When I worked most of my jobs I would get paid on Fridays, the last place was strange and paid on every other Wednesday. But hubby is military, so his paydays are 1st and 15th of the month. If you are near a military base then maybe try to plan for weekends around those dates and you might get more sales too. And make sure to advertise! If your newspaper charges too much (ours is like $40), craigslist has a garage sale section that I have heard works really well and is free. I will be trying that this week coming up to advertise our sale. Good luck with your sale! :)
