So What Happened?

Well he was supposed to have 0.8 and i usually only give him 0.6 but accidentally gave him 2 dosage of the 0.6

Yes this is the first time I did something like that. His dad gave him a dose of the 0.6 about 10 minuets before I did and then told me a little too late that he already gave him the 0.6. The baby seems to be doing fine though

You need to call poison control now. Too much acetametaphin can cause liver damage. Call now.

THis is a question for your pediatrician or the poison control center, not an online mom's group. I hope that your baby will be fine.

I am going to go with that is a double dose? If so just relax it won't hurt them in the least.

The too much warning is for those who habitually use it, not a one time use, it will not cause liver damage unless you do this every day.

your baby will be fine. my daughter dr says that you can basically triple does your child and they will be ok. my husband gave my daughter at 1 adult cough med and poison control said she would have to drink 4 ounces for it to do anything.

Call your doc on call or poison control. They can let you know. I would do it rather quickly, but don't panic.

You should be able to call a pharmacist or find a 24 hour one, or hospital pharmacy to ask them about this. I've done it many times over different issues than this and they are always very helpful. Sometimes I think the pharmacist knows more about the medication than the doctors do.

How far apart did you give them, or did you give them at the same time? I would guess you're little one is ok; a double dose shouldn't be too damaging. But I definitely would call your doc or poison control and ask about it.

Oh thank goodness...I read it like 20.6 miligrams :) Yeah, I'd not worry. But wait longer to give more.

20 ...as in 4 full syringes? Call the hospital now and see what they say.

I'm with Dawn...they have changed the dosages and it has me all messed up. But a HUGE amount of people die from liver failure related to tylenol each year.

FYI- The box or bottle should say, "No more than ___ doses in a 24 hour period." That's a good number to keep in mind before panicking.
My husband and I started keeping a little notepad and paper next to the medicine after we had a slip up just like this. We just jot down the time and keep track that way.
