Can anybody please recommend good workers to replace windows and put hardwood floors. It is always hard to find the right balance between quality and pricing.

What can I do next?

Ask your friends, neighbors... Word of mouth.

Our neighborhood has a website as well as a FB page and we ask on those pages for references.

Make sure you check with BBB

We did put all new carpet in a condo we purchased in July for our daughter. We used Nadine Floors and we are happy with the service and quality we got.

As for wood floors... We used the contractor who worked for our builder.

For a travertine tile floor, we met a guy at the store and he was fantastic. He will be doing the rest of our downstairs in travertine.

Get lots of references and don't go cheap. You get what you pay for.

Try Angie's list. It's a pay sight but it doesn't cost that much. I have used it several times and never had a problem with anyone.

We've used Abba home improvement in Grapevine. Lance & his team are very punctual & professional. And they have lots of advice for how you might best improve the value of your home.

We used http://www.windowworlddfw.com/ for our windows 5 years ago. They had excellent pricing, 0% financing, and lifetime guarantee.

Since you live in a large city with lots of choices I'd go through Angie's List. They are recommended contractors. You can read client's experiences etc. That's what I would do. Those 2 changes will make an enormous difference in your home. Have FUN!!

Take a look through your yellow pages and then check those companies out with the BBB.
