Hi There!! We just went to Wildreness this past April for Spring Break. My kids had a ball!!! The rooms had everything that you could need though...small stove/cook area, microwave, coffee pot, small refrig. There is a small arcade on the 2nd floor and a nice balacony that overlooks the swimmming area if you want to sit and relax. Our room had a balcony as well. Supposidly, The River section is to be completed this summer.....it is an outdoor water area with a huge lazy river and a big "swimming hole." Our kids had a blast!!! There is a surfing style station for older kids. My three did not go on that. There is also a swim through (inddor/outdoor) hot tub that looked really nice....being pregnant, I did not take advantage of that!! We did have a really nice time though.
I have not heard anyone say anything about the Great Wolf. My hubby works in Charlotte, and he hasn;t really heard anything about it either. We thought about going there this fall, but are not sure yet.

If you want to email me and ask any questions, please feel free to do so. ____@____.com

My sister and her husband went to Wilderness at the Smokies last weekend and loved it! They have 3 water slide areas (2 outdoor and 1 indoor), one of the areas is specifically for little swimmers, too. There's a shuttle that takes you between the slides, so no walking. There are 3 restaurants in the complex as well, she said you never really had to leave unless you want to. They got a great deal (179 a night including passes to all water slides) for a 2 queen/1 sleeper sofa room. She said they'd definitely be going back.

Hope this helps.

I've never heard of Wilderness at the Smokies. We went to Great Wolf Lodge in May. I was great. My son really enjoyed the waterpark, he wanted to do the MagiQuest but spoke to a boy who said it took longer than we had. The room was so quiet we couldn't believe it. We know we had a family on one side of us, they went in to their room while we were in the hall and slammed the door. We figured we would hear all kinds of noise from them but we didn't. My son loved the mini room all to himself. The room also had a double (or queen, I'm not sure) bed and a sofa, not to mention the TVs (one in the kids mini room), coffee maker, refrig.
