Which BEACHES RESORT Would You Choose??

Wow...going to a Beaches Resort in another country for a 10th birthday? What will you do when they become a teen, turn 16, 18, 21??

We took our family to Beaches Negril when they were 11 and 7, it was the best family vacation we've ever shared! The beach was beautiful, they have a "mini" waterpark with slides and a lazy river, the buffet at meal times has a special "kids" section with foods even the pickiest eater will eat and the fun never ends. I recommend a 1 or 2 bdrm villa vs trying to squeeze everyone into a small room or adjoining rooms. The villas we stayed in was beachfront but set apart from the main pool and dining areas which made it very peaceful and quiet.

Do be careful about starting special bday traditions you may not be able to follow through with for all your kids, make it a family vacation that just happens to fall on his bday and save yourselves THOUSANDS of $$! We are looking at colleges for my oldest and I just recently had the thought that ONE of our Disney vacations cost what we have to pay for one semester of college next year. Of course, I wouldn't trade the memories we made together on those trips for anything in the world. Enjoy!

My hubby and I went to Jamaica on our honeymoon several years ago and it was absolutely gorgeous. Negril offers a lot! Shopping and swimming with dolphins, sight seeing and great beaches

Just one thought - I've heard that Turks and Caicos is amazingly beautiful but expensive. So if there is any budget restraints, try another one.

My husband and I went to negril when we first started dating 9 years ago. I'm sure a lot has changed but it was stunning! We didn't have kids so I'm not sure about activites for them, but I'm sure there's lots! Enjoy your trip!

Are they all going to get such an amazing trip?

I only ask because we happend to be on vacation over spring break two years ago, and that was over my son's 6th birthday. Now the kids remind me everytime we talk about a vacation that since he got a birthday trip they should all get birhtday trips. Ugh...that's not the way it works and we didn't go FOR his brithday, it just happened to work out that way.

I've heard Turks and Caicos is amazing. We are going on a cruise in January that will hit there, and everyone says it's beyond gorgeous. Otherwise I haven't been to any of those places yet.

I just looked into them for a trip for my family. If it was strictly my decision, I'd go Turks & Caicos. However, since my husband loves to golf, and I like it as well, we are probably going to go to one of the Jamaican resorts. Turks & Caicos has more amenities than the Jamaican resorts (except golf), but it is also the most expensive. If you are really planning this around the kids, I'd go Jamaica. They will get the same experience and it will save you some money.
