I have two arm chairs that are sturdy and would look great in my living room but the fabric on them is sooo dated, worn, doesn't match....so I'm looking for a place to take them to get reupholstered?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What can I do next?

I just had some upholstery work done at Gomez Upholstery Shop on Chippewa at Watson. They do an incredible job, and are much more reasonable than any of the other shops that I have worked with. They will also come to your home and pick up your furniture.

There is an Uphostery and Window Dressing Shop on Gravois at the Corner of Mackenzie and Gravois in Affton. I have not been in there, but drive past it every day. It is call Lehnig I think. Good Luck.

Tinker's Upholstery at 3728 Bates, a few blocks west of South Grand, recovered a 1950s settee with vintage fabric I bought at an antique store. They were reasonable in price and willing to work with me on the slightly unorthodox design request. I was very pleased with the final result. Good luck.

Chippewa and Watson...where they come together, just about 1/2 block east on Chippewa in the same block as that jewelery store where Chippewa and Watson come together...a little store with beautiful fabric...just a few doors east on Chippewa from that jewelery store.

Hi J.,

I just recently had my dining room chairs reupolstered at Peacock in South St. Louis.

The owner/operator was wonderful, they had gorgeous materials and he did it as a RUSH order. I was having a jewelry party for neighborhood friends within 2 weeks. The chairs are absolutely wonderful and I am exceedingly pleased.

He and his father have been in business for over 40 years and do an excellent job.

I am a new member of Mamasource, and am overwhelmed at the wonderful new source of support received.

If you need a plumber, my Master Plumber husband, Ron and my son Will, are the best and probably the most straightforward ones around. You can call them ###-###-####. Tell them S. said to call!

Hi! I am new to St. Louis and I would love to know the answer to that question as well. Some of the furniture we moved is still in really good shape, but needs a "restyling"; and, they are not the kind that you can slipcover.

My name is D.. I am a mother of 3: 16, 13, and 9. I home school the 9 year old and have been married to "my guy" for 19 and a half years! Wow!
