So thanks to gestational diabetes, I began using Cary's syrup and really like it. Unfortunately, the stores I used to get it at no longer seem to be carrying it. Sigh. I have 2 different bottles of syrup of other flavors I've tried, but they just taste WAY too sweet. I can't get past the taste. I can save it for company but we don't have company that often - it might take 10 years to get rid of this stuff :)
I'm hoping I'll find the Cary's somewhere, but in the meantime, what can I do with the "yucky" syrup besides throw it out?
Thanks!

Could you make Maple Candy for Christmas gifts?
You could go on Freecycle.org and post it if neighbors or friends don't want it.
If you're referring to Cary's sugar free syrup then I usually find it at Walmart. I hope they still have it.
it is good on carrots after they are cooked put drain them and pour a little bit of syrup.
acorn squash is good cooked with some butter and syrup
baked beans use the syrup instead o the brown sugar
it makes a great marinaid along with some spicy bbq sauce to cover up your pork chops or chicken
Try the Braum's sugar free syrup. It's just as good as the regular.
Since it's opened you cannot donate it to a food bank. You can ask neighbors or friends if it's a brand they like and give it to them. We've done that in the past!
I would bake a ham and use the maple syrup as a coating...like a maple cured ham...make baked beans.
There are maple bars you can bake. The taste of the maple will change with cooking or baking.
You can buy the Cary's syrup online.
Use it for cooking or baking in recipes that call for syrup. The other ingredients and flavors will mask the sweetness.
