What to Do This Sunday?

I have a 4.5 mo old daughter. My husband works 24/7 while I take care of the babe. He has this Sunday off. The whole day!!! I wear my baby so I am not hindered by a stroller and the weather is predicted to have evening showers but a high of 86 degrees or so. What would you do? I live in Norwood but I have no problem traveling for a day trip. A few weeks back, my sister was in town and we drove to Salem, MA and did the Witch thing all day. We've already done the Mystic Aquarium so the NE Aquarium doesn't do much for us. The Zoos are okay but we visit them with my stepson. The Science Museum is above my dd. What else would you do?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the responses. A little bit more of the story: if we'd have stayed home, my dh would have slept in, done yard work, napped and worked on projects that might someday make us money. He would have had a day off, but I wouldn't. And I needed one too. So after reading your suggestions, I decided that since dd isn't old enough to care what she 'does', it was up to the adults to care... so we went up to Rockport, MA and walked around the stores, ate clam strips and gourmet cupcakes and found little sparkly pinwheels for dd to look at. She was completely engaged in what she was seeing as were we. Thank you for helping me decide what to do and where to do it, on my dh's day off.

Hi- You should definitely check out the Boston Central (bostoncentral.com) web site. They have many listings and links to events, etc. They will send you a weekly listing as well. For a day trip- two thoughts- Have you been to Davis Farms in Sterling MA.. it is fabulous. There are animals to pet and feed, face painting, a large play area, and also a water park. A day's worth of entertainment. You can bring a picnic and they also sell food. Also we enjoy going to Boston Common- riding the duck boats, using the frog pond, etc. but it can be pricey so we don't do it often. I also think a day at the beach is always good entertainment.
Enjoy! Best, M.

C.,

Maybe you should have a quiet day at home. Your daughter isn't old enough to want to go anywhere and a day to have your husband and daughter together sounds like a real treat for you. I would make it a lazy day, maybe go out for a lazy breakfast but let you husband and daughter get play with each other. It also sounds like your husband could use some down time as well. Play, sing songs, read to your daughter - she will probably love it and so will your husband. Enjoy your day.

How about stay home?! It sounds like your husband is never there and your daughter is only 4 months old. Why drag her out in the heat. Unless there is something you and your husband have been meaning to do together (with baby in tow, however.) Unless the adults would enjoy a trip to a zoo or museum... I say do what you would enjoy.

If your an outdoorsy person take the walk up Blue Hills. YOu can go the short wa (about and 1 1/2) or the longer way on the other side of the hill (about 3 hrs I think). Go to the Trailside Museum at the base of the short walk for maps and to get answers to questions.

Enjoy

This would totally depend on your husband but Yankee Candle is pretty awesome up in Deerfield. We've also toured around Falmouth (cape) and Newport, RI is really nice.
