What or Who Inspires You?

Happy Easter everyone!!

I had a wonderful Lent. I spent a lot of time reading about Mother Teresa.

She is such an inspiration. She not only wanted to assist the poor, she insisted that she live among the poor. She heard God's call and knew she would endure much suffering, but she only wanted to please God. So she went.
She was in a very comfortable environment and would have had a much easier time living where she was, but she knew after hearing God's call that she needed to go to the poor and be with them. So amazing!!

Some of her colleagues, who were her friends at one time, were envious of her and would speak negatively about her, yet she remained kind, gracious and humble.

She endured much suffering and didn't complain. She remained positive, helpful and humble.
There's so much more too. I hope you will have a chance to read about Mother Teresa. Such a positive, inspiring role model for our time.

So who or what inspires you?

Where do I start! I like Mother Teresa as well. I also like Blessed Miguel Pro, St. Maximilian Kolbe, Saint Teresia Benedicta of the Cross, St Josemaria Escriva, St. Faustina and then there is my Mother and Father. Contemplating the Blessed Mother's life is also very inspiring.

Of people I know firsthand:
My aunt and uncle, who are wealthy, but don't show it. They have provided dozens of my family members with jobs over the years; rescued my k-12 school from financial ruin; helped my parents pay tuition for all 5 of us kids to attend that Catholic school; paid for my textbooks in college; given loans to family members left and right during tough times; adopted 2 children, 1 of which has also adopted 2 children; built a few different businesses from the ground up, providing thousands of jobs to people in my hometown...all of this based on their Faith.

My best friend who is a NFP-only OB/GYN, mother of 2, with a wonderful SAH husband. She fought through a lot to make it to where she is now, and I am very proud of her.

Great question! I am inspired by so many. I find inspiration in seeing a homeless man sing and be joyful despite his circumstances. I feel so inspired when women especially mothers, help other mothers--like new mommies. I too love Mother Theresa---she was incredible!

I mostly find my inspiration to do good and volunteer by the people around me. The everyday situations that restore my faith in humanity. I also am most deeply inspired by my husband and children. They make me want to be a better me every day.

Bill W. and Dr. Bob !!! gotta love these two... They started AA , and to this day, it's a program that has helped millions........ it doesn't cost and works (if you work it) better than any self-help program out there.. There should be planets named after these guys!!! :)

Zig Ziglar (rip) Great motivational speaker!!!

Buddha <<< This guy, after tiring of the good "material life" left it all behind in search of something more and in finding it, would then of course go on to teach others and was/is still an inspiration to millions..

Anne Wigmore.. one of the first alternative GREEN health practitioners on the scene... Today's alternative docs should be singing her praises.. when no one else was on the scene using Green smoothies and sprouts, etc to heal people, this woman started the Hippocrates Health Institute.... Yet so many people think it's people like Dr. Oz , Weil and other mainstream docs who brought us all these wonders.. NOPE.. Anne did it first..

I am always impressed by wealthy people who actually use their connections and money to make a difference (people like Bill Gates and Princess Diana.) Sure, some may say "oh it's easy to give it away when you've got it" but that's not really true. Plenty of people with great wealth are shallow and selfish and only interested in buying "things" for themselves. It takes a generous heart to give of yourself, whether it's a $5 donation and an hour's worth of time, or a $500,000 donation and many, many hours of your time. The wealthy who do this make a huge impact in the world, and I admire and respect that.

He doesn't know how to fail! Not only is he an outstanding/ hands on father, he's truly my best friend......He's the best provider, patient, kind, laid back, genuine, super smart, gorgeous, loyal and SO much more...... He came from a REALLY messed up childhood and I have no clue how he turned out so normal... I'm constantly looking for the halo over his head... I can't tell you how many times I hear " does he have a brother" or "can we clone your husband"...... I am so blessed!

- My parents... I want my parents to be proud of me, which in turn inspires me to be a better person than I am otherwise naturally inclined to be.

- My son. Ditto the above, x1,000,000. Because her transforms "want" into "need".
