What Is Your Hubby Getting for Christmas?

So far I only have a shirt and a golf club (a really good one) for him. It doesn't seem like enough to open. We all get new underwear, but I want a couple more things. They don't have to be expensive.

So what is your hubby getting?

What can I do next?

Looks like I may end up paying off his red light camera ticket!! Jackass.

I also broke down and bought him a replica of his original dog tags and a replica hat he wore on the ship when he was in the Navy in the 1st gulf war. The internet is amazing.

Aqua di Gio (however you spell it) Its armani cologne and its super yummy. I got him the set, aftershave cologne and deodorant. I could chew on him when he wears it i like it so much. I also got him these weird little magnetic balls from brookstone. its a pointless 30 dollar desk toy that is absolutely time wasting but neat. He will love it.

I love my husband, simply adore the guy. Or I never would have been cool with what he said to me the other morning when I was in the shower:

"Honey, would you mind if I did the shopping this year for my Christmas present?"

I had to laugh. He's wanting the second season of the original Star Trek series and felt I didn't do quite a savvy job of finding the first season online. He's a pro at finding the best deals and so I laughed and told him sure, as long as I get the remainder of our Christmas allotment for him to spend on him myself. We are the odd couple ;)

So, for him, the Star Trek dvds and likely a bottle of really great craft beer (goes away, I don't have to dust it). Plus, years ago I painted a little picture of our cat wearing overalls based on one of my husband's pet endearments for kitty, so I'm going to try and find a little frame for it. It's been sitting on the nightstand for four years now, and he keeps propping it up, so I guess he likes it, maybe? Oh, and a bar of chocolate too. Can't forget it!

What is my husband getting for Christmas?? ME!!

We discussed gifts and we don't need anything from each other..what we want we just buy. So, we decided that after the holiday hoopla is over that we will go away for a weekend together. Not anywhere expensive...just away...together. Probably somewhere along the Central California coast.

For us..we are at a point that we can buy what we need and want. We don't want anything that can be packaged in a shiny, wrapped box. Sooo, we will spend our money on our together time! We usually buy things for each other throughout the year...so I guess when Christmas comes that is why we don't feel an urge to put that on our "to do" list.

I might put a shiny bow on my belly button Christmas night and wish him a Very Merry Christmas.

Good luck and best wishes at having a wonderful Christmas!!

Nothing.. our Christmas is going towards rent and medical bills this year. But I will probably buy him a half pound of his favorite gourmet salami as a surprise. I guess he did buy his Christmas present last month, a new video game that had just come out.

We planned to get a joint gift for ourselves (with some of our wedding gift money) and get a king size bed. We haven't moved yet, and we absolutely don't have room for it in our current place, so we won't be getting that just yet... it may end up being more of a first anniversary gift!

So that said, we hadn't planned to really get each other gifts... but I do want to give him something, a surprise, that he'll love, and that he won't be expecting.

We had a tiny spat a couple months after the wedding because I hadn't printed/hung any of our wedding photos, and he felt like they didn't mean anything to me... (how odd, for the man to think that?? such a woman sentiment, at least I thought... ) The reason I hadn't, was that we were supposed to be moving in the early fall, and I wanted to wait until I knew exactly where I wanted to hang the photos, what sizes, etc... So I never printed any.

But I made a wonderful photo book of many of the good photos from the wedding, and I am going to give him that. I really do think he'll be surprised because I haven't mentioned it to him at all, and I think he'll love it. At least I hope! I also got him a Willow Tree New Dad statue, since our baby is due January 30!

The Book of Man by Dennis Prager
A silver James Avery chain for his dad's dog tags (his dad passed away last month)
A Nordstrom shirt and tie
A copper golf bracelet with magnets

I'm putting pistachios, a small men's care kit, and a cool flashlight in his stocking.

My 7 year old got him a dog tag that says "Dad." I'm taking my 14 year old shopping on Friday night to pick out something. He said he had something in mind, but I'm not sure what he has in mind.

Merry Christmas!

On the dayafter Thanksgiving, we each write a letter to "Father Christmas" (Santa). The letters are then "mailed" by being placed in this ornamental brass duck that we have, its got a hinged back. That way, I know what he's after, and he knows what I want. Saves a lot of guesswork.

His wishlist is modest -
He wants a curry supper, carrot cake, and birthday cake.

I asked for a weekly bouquet, a curry supper, and some leather gloves.

apart from a really nice knife set, there is nothing that he's long wanted.

thanks for jarring my memory banks, take a look for an upcoming post from me asking for a knife set recommendation.

Best to you and your hub,

My husband wants a juicer - believe it or not. So he's getting that, a DVD, a huge bag of giant pistachios (from Costco) new leather gloves, and I'm going to get him a new pair of dockers and a new shirt - he usually wears the same stuff to church... If he told me he wanted something specific I'd get it - but he hasn't.

So glad you asked this, I'm going to try to get some ideas! I so don't know what I"m getting this year for my husband but I'm leaning towards at least getting him a variety of different beers. He's very much into trying different beers/breweries. But still unsure.

I've always wanted to buy him some cologne, not sure if he will wear it but I love men who wear cologne. Amanda G...has me thinking I might have to try that armani one. :)

He's lost so much weight in the last year he's been FINALLY buying new things for the last two months.

He CONSIDERS himself done but the "resident 4 1/2 year old" insists that dad needs a MATCHING Perry the Platypus t-shirt to his and of COURSE he needs boxers too.

Generally he just wants QUIET so I grab the kid and make ourselves scarce for a few hours when he's home. We spend a LOT of time together and sometimes all that "togetherness" gets to be a bit much. I found myself taking the LOOONGEST way home from the grocery store last week just to enjoy MY music and could actually THINK without "someone" kicking the back of my seat.

And he starts buying himself stuff EVERY November! Grrrrrrrr......
And I blew the lot by getting him an iPad for his birthday this past summer. So far, a thermal henley and a sweater, some stocking stuff (Axe, deodorant, candy), new Levis and a sweatshirt and I'll probably grab some new underwear, socks, an iTunes gift card.....otherwise no clue! Mine is getting a wood-working table he wants (can't wait to wrap the 115 lb package!), a nice sweater he's had his eye on and some stocking stuffers - Kindle giftcard, this locally made shave soap we love, aftershave and $50 worth of grape, pomegranate and cherry Tootsie Pops! Yes, he's gone nuts over them, but those are the only flavors he likes, so I special ordered them.

The same things he gets every year: undies, socks, undershirts, pj pants, thermals (why does he refuse to buy these things for himself??), along with a few of his favorite snacks, and some small things I know he'll like & use (a new scrubber for the grill, grill tongs, flashlight, etc). We always allow ourselves one "big" purchase and this year it was our new phones!
I don't bother with clothes, cologne, or any of his "hobby" supplies because he will just buy those things for himself.

A book (that he probably won't read for a year!), new slippers, a sweatshirt to replace one he got paint all over, and a gym membership at my gym (I got a really good deal!). I agree with so many ladies here - why does he not buy himself necessities? I even got him a new cellphone this fall because his old one was so awful and he was due for an upgrade. He complained about it constantly but did not go and get it himself. Since he is like this, I find myself picking things up for him constantly, so not getting him a ton to open is totally fine and guilt-free for me! And him too!!

Two new hooded sweatshirts, and some new wool socks, he wears them for work, new underwear, a HUGE box of cherry chocolates (they are his fave), several packages of gum, lol, silly but he chews gum all the time, a few cigars (he smokes one or two a week, yuck :) and a new video game. No big deal but all stuff he will enjoy! Usually he gets fewer gifts but I just started wrapping things he would usually buy anyway.

Two very nice shirts that I know he will go crazy for (he likes the fancy cowboy-style shirts for when he performs on stage-he's a musician). Tickets to an expensive concert that he will also go crazy for (it's also a dinner-theater sit-down setting).

For his stocking: his favorite candy, a fun t-shirt, some hot sauce, and 3 mini liquor bottles.

I usually get more for him (an amplifier, or some very expensive piece of music equipment). We are more budgeted for this year, but I still don't think I did that bad:)

Nothing.... we stopped giving gifts a few years ago and what a relief!!! So much time and energy spent on such silly things- most of which we don't need or even want, but won't admit to. Then it just sits in the closet....
Now that we have kids, they get all the fun (as it should be)
