This morning my 4 year old woke up with fits of screaming cause she was "Cold and Tired". So after a hot breakfast and a snuggle and getting ready for school. I was told "you not a half bad mom" SURPRISING. Then my 2 year old decided clothes and diapers are over rated. Took em off. Ran naked and peed on the dogs bed. Where I thought the dog had reverted to bad behavior and almost booted her out the door, drop kick fashion, till the 4 year old mentioned "ummmm mom D peed on the dog bed" OH THANK YOU M. Well the my 1 year old knocks the clean wash basket over and decidedly threw it all over the room, and wiped his cookie mouth on dads freshly pressed white work shirt. OKKKK SO its sequester the children to the play room with baby gates, where my 4 year old comes screaming to me that she hurt her wahoo climbing on the gate. I ask her what is a Wahoo... she says you know that dangly thing between your legs... WHAT? I say.. what dangly thing. MOM YOU KNOW WHAT R HAS? I say yes I know what R has but he is a boy and you are a girl you do not have that so how can you hurt it. She is defiant and put hands on her hips and says "well I hurt my imaginary one" UMMM my day isnt going that great but how is yours?

What can I do next?

my kids were fighting over what to watch on tv, so I let girl watch her show and put boy on leapfrog laptop. Girl decides she wants laptop mow now they were fighting about laptop, I put girl on computer so boy can continue playing with laptop uninterrupted, but he decided he'd rather play on computer, so both are fighting over computer, noone wants tv or laptop and the sound of them whining, arguing, complaining is like a powerdrill boring a hole into my brain. so mom takes everything away, sends kids to quiet time in thier rooms, and mom takes a 10 minute timeout and has a glass of wine to drown out all the whining.

AAAHHHHH I remember those days. Now I have them with the grandchildren.
Just remember:

Grandchildren are nature's reward for not killing your children when they are young.

Just know that you are not the only one... And I'm glad to know my house isn't the only one this crazy! I too have a 4 year old and a 1 year old and could totally see some of these events occurring in my house! Thank you for the laugh this morning!

I just thought of one of my moments...on Friday when we attempted Hollidazzle for the first time. 4 year old insisted on putting shorts on while hubby insisted we dress the kids and ourselves like it was 30 below! We finally made it out the door after everyone snapping at each other and had a good time. I love how I try to plan something fun for everyone and...well you know!

LOL! Sometimes I think my kids belong in a zoo. However, everyday I count my blessings because recently I know too many people who have lost their kids to tragedy. I am not laughing at you but with you...Oh my the things that kids do and say :)

Hahaha!!! That's great! She just meant her girlie bits & didn't have a word for it I'm sure. My kids test me on a daily basis, but they're older & are doing it intentionally.

Been having those days in our house as well except for with one 18 month old! She seems to have sprung into her terrible two's or at least just taking on a bratty lifestyle. Simple things we ask of her like 'High Five?" turns into a screaming of "NO NO NO" coupled with a red face and maybe some vein bulging.....it is a bit frustrating because usually she is pretty good. The other day I was giving her the 'stare down' as my first step of discipline and she gave me the "Is that all you got?" look....had to walk away from that little Peach of mine :o)
Hang in there M. Momma!

Hmm..my darling two year old (almost three) has taken to no longer dressing herself after REFUSING to let me help her get dressed just a few months before. Now I get to chase her around the house saying things like "I'm not going to chase you around the house to get you dressed" and making threats about pulling dessert before she's finished her breakfast.

My son and his school won a "pj" day for bringing the most food in for Care & Share (gotta brag - 42,000 pounds and $4000 cash) and I didn't look while he was getting dressed and only noticed when we headed out hte door that his pj's were at least a size - if not two - too small - the pants literally reached mid-calf. I'm sure his teacher thinks I am some sort of poor parent that can't even put her kiddo in pj's that fit...oh yeah...and his socks were mismatched as well. :-)

Sigh...they keep us hopping

On the plus side - the almost 3 year old yelled "Mommmyyyy...come over her and GIVE ME SOME LOVE right now" - pretty much negated all the bad behavior. :-)
