What Do Your Kiddos Want to Be?

This is stemmed off of the Career question we had yesterday...because S H had mentioned she wanted to be a NINJA growing up.....I too have a ninja want to be here:)

What do you kids tell you they want to be when they Grow up right now??

My oldest wants to work at Best Buy in the Game section...where they have the WII displayed and Rock Band...We bought our TV awhile back and we spent an afternoon back in the gamer department while my hubby did his TV buying thing. He thought it was so neat that the guy working got to hangout there....So, we got home and two days later he comes up to me and says...''Mom, when I grow up I want to work at the blue store.....''. It took me a minute or ten..to figure out what the blue store was...because he also has a fascination with Ikea.

My middle guy....is born to rock. He has been playing guitar now for a few years....and by that I mean....he can now play it...before it was just I want to carry the guitar around and look cool. Gpop is a musician though so, he has started getting free lessons from the Gpop. Everything in life for him is about ROCKING out. He has hair for days....He is the little man in my profile picture right now....He is in the process of dreading his hair....he calls it his rocking out hair...My only hope is to steer him away from groupies...of any age:)

Last but not least my youngest....He wants to be a Power Ranger.. Samurai. He will run around the house doing the Karate moves. And make the noises they make while fighting. It is hilarious. I have had to train my older two how to play dead so that when brother comes it is a short stay and then he moves on to the next....Every one in our house is a ''BAD'' guy he has to handle.

I think it is cute that they have drive to be big people! What do your little guys do...to be big?

So What Happened?

This is putting a smile on my face!! I love it!!

I remember wanting to be a fashion designing, police Lawyer.....all at once...my mom always told me it would be really hard to find a school to train to be ALL three...I still think she is wrong;p

Thank you for inspiring the question S H...:)

I just asked him and he said "A bus driver, so I can take people to where they want to go."

Is that all?

"I'd love to be a crane excavator claw (clam-bucket) operator." pause. "I think I want to be a truck driver. I think I want to be a kind of tow truck driver."

Apparently, he did not inherit his mother's lack of interest in driving!

My son who is 8 now was asked that question at his kindergarten graduation. He was not like all the other answers....police officer, army man, doctor......oh no, it was loud and proud "I WANT TO BE A SQUID CATCHER!" The parents just rolled in laughter and me (the Mom) thinking "awe, that's my boy the MARINE BIOLOGIST". It was one of the best days ever. Now, he still wants to be that but also anything that happens to mess with nature and animals. He loves science. Fingers crossed he keeps it up. Kids are great!

Well, my kids are a little older, so probably have a little more realistic ideas about what they want to be when they finish growing up.
My daughter, for years, wanted to be a veterinarian or work at McDonald's. Then, she was going to be a mom and her husband was going to work (like in our household). Now, (she is 10) she wants to be an pilot and then after she wraps up that career, she plans to be an actress and a claymation movie maker. :)

My son... something military, lol. Or work in a video store, LOL.

My oldest says that he wants to be "a doctor like Daddy. And my brothers can be doctors too. And I want to be a mommy."

Drives me a bit crazy, because my hubby and my in-laws keep drilling it into my son's head that he will be a doctor, just as they did to my hubby. Hubby wanted to be an actor. Oh well, at least a doctor is stable income (for now.)

My son has wanted to be a:
fireman
policeman
paleontologist
engineer (working/driving trains)
engineer (building aircraft carriers)
astronomer
weather man
wizard
own/run a zoo/circus (thank you Dr Seuss) (or own/run Jurassic Park)
(or own a dragon)
and just lately he's narrowed it down to
electrical engineer (that's what Daddy is)
or dentist/orthodontist
He's 12 and I think he'll still change his mind a lot before he's done.

My now 14 year old wanted to be a paleontologist for the longest time, from age 3 to probably 10 or so. Then she decided to be a writer, then a teacher, then a sports caster, then a broadcast journalist, then a newspaper journalist, then a writer again, now she wants to study library sciences... all I know is that she needs lots of English class in high school.

Mine is almost 17...but ALWAYS wanted to draw the pictures in books (as a 4 year old, this was an "illuuust-tri-lator"..right mom? I think they should be called a picture-lator..so thats what I wanna be!"), or she said maybe make cartoons for Mr Disney. LOL. This is when she was drawing unicorns and horses and kitty cats..typical little girl stuff and her favorite place to be was the bookstore (still her favorite place..and now they have coffee shops in them!!!)

Now, she is going to an Arts High School, OBSESSED with Disney and Pixar movies and we are researching Art Colleges...gee whiz! It will be interesting to see where her life goes!.

My 4 yo right now wants to be an astronaut or a chef. She LOVES cooking and is my husband's sous chef already. She has wanted to be a chef for as long as she's wanted to anything. My husband is a GM and part-owner of our pub so she gets alot of exposure to the restaurant biz. The astronaunt is recent as she has a new fascination with space. It is so sweet watching her explore her interests. I can't wait to see how they pan out as she grows. Nice question :)

My oldest has always wanted to be a cowgirl! She wanted to be an actress until she did it a few times and thought it was hard :) now she says cowgirl, teacher, and chiropractor (I work for a Chiro). The youngest says she was to be a doctor (after breaking her leg last summer) and an acrobat. She's clumsy so she will need a doctor if she's an acrobat!

I wanted to be a trapeze artist as a kid but now wouldnt dare so there's hope she will change her mind. I also wanted to be a cop. Got my degree in criminal justice then started working in medical billing and never looked back. Busy as ever so it's paid off!

My 7 year old daughter has said things like she wants to be a fashion designer, she also wants to be a vet, have a lot of animals and a farm next door to me so that she can help me take care of my animals if I have any. She has also said that place shall be somewhere that snows, where we can have a house with a chimney and stairs! I have a friend who's daughter is in her 20's now, but years ago when she was about 4 or 5, she told me that when she grew up she wanted to clean and operate the slurpy machine at 7-11. It was especially funny because my friend is kind of "uppity" and was horrified that she was telling everyone that! Lol :-)

My oldest son at the age of 11 or 12 decided he wanted to be a sword smith. More specifically, a Japanese Sword smith. He is now 20 and in the Air Force.

My youngest, who is now 11 says he wants to be Car Designer. He has held steady on that since he was 5.

Curiously, my daughter who is 17 has always had a wait and see attitude. With the exception of 2nd grade when she wanted to be a teacher. Not sure what will happen when she goes to college. She is a whiz at math, but expresses no interest in math, engineering or accounting. Said maybe to economics....I guess we'll see.

My almost 7 yr old daughter wants to be an marine biologist. I'm sure she'll do something with animals. I've even seen her pet a WILD chimpmunk! - I mean, most people can't come within 20 feet of those things! Weird - we call her the Animal Whisperer :)
My son (9) says he wants to be a geologist. He used to want to make robots. And maybe design video games! He has a mind for math and science with imagination thrown in, so maybe??

And too funny - both my kids are ninjas! They both been training in Ninjutsu traditional mixed Japanese martial art for 2.5 years.

I think the proudest day of my husbands life was when our two and a half year old came over and tried to adjust me, like daddy did. He is a chiropractor. She put her little hands under my head and moved my head around. Then told me "Cross Arms" and tried to adjust me, all very gently. It was hysterical. So he is sure she will follow in his foot steps.

However, she likes to take the camera and yell "FMILE" at everyone so she just might follow in my footsteps and be a photographer.

At least that is what I am hoping otherwise, her only other passion is drawing on walls so I am hoping she doesn't become a graffiti artist.

As an added note when I was little I wanted to be Truck Driver. Don't ask me why. But I also wanted to be a writer...which I finished my first novel a little while back. :)

Lol. DD wanted to be a "baker at Chick-fil-a". I tried to convince her it would be fun to be a baker in her own cake shop...she didn't want any part of that.

Then we went to our local children's museum and they have a play veterinarian office. She loves it.

I told her she could do that one day as a grown up. She took my bait-yay! :)

This is a fun question! I just got a kick out of reading the responses.
My daughter will be 4 in Oct. She has wanted to be a doctor since she was old enough to articulate that. Recently, she's become more specific: she wants to be a doctor who helps Mom's get babies out of their bellies AND a doctor who takes care of the babies/kids once they are out! So, an OB/GYN - Pedi?
She also wants to be a mechanic, a librarian and a Mom. I just love this kid!
