I followed the directions, my sugar liquid was at 260 degrees and my egg whites were stiff but it still turned into a glob.

Brave soul.
I'd guess you could try to enjoy picking at it and sampling... if you are so inclined. Otherwise, dump it. I have an aunt who is able to make this perfectly, every time. And she does, every year. My mother, on the other hand, tried several times when I was growing up (we all love it) and it was a flop every single time. She gave up trying, and I have never attempted it b/c I can't imagine I will get it to work, either. I've heard that if the weather is rainy it won't set, too. Probably an old wives' tale.
But, you're brave for trying anyway.

I vote toss it.

i spent a good 15 seconds delightedly envisioning a globby deity bobbing around its shrine, oozing ectoplasm and lightning bolts.
clearly the best thing to do is to pour libations to it and placate it.

I can't help you (sorry) but I just realized, in reading the posts below, that this is that candy that I love that I never knew the name of! I will have to try one of the recipes below.

Although I also love Suz's imagery.

Divinity is one of those harder candies, it may have still been too shiny when you stopped mixing. Toss it and try again.

I made divinity this weekend and it turned out like flavored lumps. Not light and fluffy either. Our humidity wasn't awful either. I do wonder what I did wrong. Don't know.

Before my sister joined the Jehovah's Witness congregation she would make candy for Christmas every year. She made the most perfect divinity I've ever tasted.

The recipe is on the back of a box of frosting mix. You use that frosting mix and add to it.
