Does anyone have any experience with vitamin C IV?
Did it make you feel better?

Doctor suggested I do the Vitamin C IV, but kinda scared.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone, no I do not have cancer. I'm just always tired, no energy and depressed. There will be mineral in the IV. My insurance will pay. I just thought I might give it a try and see if it helps in any area of my health.

I can't imagine. I don't even think the body stores vit C. That means anything extra makes for expensive urine.

Sounds crazy to me - just a way to bill more or just throw a "bandaid" at you. What in the world is this suggested for?? Are you tired, frequently sick, what?

Vitamins do not work in isolation! They need many other "partners" for absorption - other vitamins, minerals, trace elements, phytonutrients, and more. Absorption of vitamins can be a problem, particularly in pill form - they are barely 15-30% absorbed. I can send you a link from the Physician's Desk Reference that shows that if you want.

I'm a nutritional consultant and I've never seen any studies showing that single nutrients do anything that cost money, and I've never seen any food science studies that suggest IVs are the way to do anything short of an emergency! If you want more info on this, let me know through a private message.

I just googled this... I'd not heard of anyone doing this. Apparently there are Drs who will use this for treatment for Cancer or HIV.

If you have either cancer or HIV, I am sorry. Not only is there NO scientific evidence that this is a "cure", there can actually be some fairly significant side effects from a vitamin C megadose... Like severe anemia, kidney stones and renal system failure. Instead, try to find a Dr who specializes in your illness was who has shown high success rates with positive patient outcomes.

If you DON'T have cancer or HIV, then in my opinion, your Dr is a quack and I would encourage you to find another one. But I'm fairly conservative in my medical views and practice.

Nope. Never had a Vitamin C IV. I've had a potassium drip - but not a Vitamin C...why would your doctor recommend that? Are you a cancer patient? Or do you have scurvy? (been out to sea a long time?)

You haven't given much information. I would also recommend changing your title to "Vitamin C IV - did you have one?" because some people might look at what you have and say "what?" and skip.

Good luck!
