Has any one else seen this story? Apparently there is a gunman on campus.
Many prayers go out to all there and the family members at home scared to death.

who knows!! somebody looking for their 15 minutes of fame? I know that sounds cold and heartless but really? if there really is a gunman on campus then they should NOT broadcast his/her name or face all over the news...
I applaud the kids who reported it. Better safe than sorry especially after what happened there in 2007. We are told, if you see something, say something. This is a great time to teach kids this lesson. (If something awful happens, I won't let them see that.) We hope and pray it was nothing.
I know someone on the Virginia Tech campus right now. It's sounding like nothing...no shooting, no person with gun found. The place is swarming with cops, and everyone has been told to stay inside, but everything appears to be ok.
From what I hear, three juveniles attending a summer camp reported seeing what 'may have been a gun' under a cloth.
I just read about this from a teacher friend at Tech... fingers crossed.
@Mamatothreewee: Blacksburg is about 2 hours from me, so yes, in the grand scheme of things. My baby brother is visiting there right now for some lecture, just found out. He's okay, but they're still on lockdown and haven't found the suspect.

Yes there is. they are hitting off a Security Camera on campus...They are going to commercial right now.
There are Summer Camps being Run on the campus right now. I can tell if the camps are kiddo age or College age. they have not been very specific.
They are all in Lock down mode. So what that means who knows.
I think it is a great thing they have the Security cameras. They have the place covered pretty well that way with out having to put any one in serious danger...They can clear areas better that way. Having Eyes in the sky behind the ground people doing the search.
Think AMAZING description does seem fishy. They have the description down too just about the socks. And they are saying now that it is 3 kids that reported it. so, things may start being reported as fishy?? If that is the case and this turns out to be a prank....I will start praying for the parents of those kids.

Just saw it - I am not sure they know for sure there is a gunman - just a suspected one. What is it with this place?!
Oh no, not again! This is so scary and that campus has already been through so much. Going to try and find this online...
Could be the kids are crying wolf (and if they are, it's certainly got a WHOLE lot of attention for something that so far is a non-event).
It's playing out like an unscheduled fire drill and it's getting national news.
I know some might disagree, but I think news agencies are jumping the gun a bit on this story.

Wow, how terrifying for them! I pray that it is a false report and that no one gets hurt.
HOW horrifying :-( for those students there AND family at home!
