My girlfriend sent me a text this morning asking me what year my van was. I told her...she told me about a recall. So I went on-line and checked and sure enough- Honda is issuing a recall for almost 900,000 vans made in their Alabama plant are being recalled for a faulty fuel pump...

As the token question - do you own a Honda Odyssey minivan? Do you like it?

I have a love-hate relationship with mine....now that we De-Paxed it - HATED those drive-flat tires!! it's much better!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

The recall is for Honda Odyssey's made in Albama 2005 to 2010. There is a faulty fuel pump that could leak and cause a fire. They are being proactive as there have been no injuries reported to date...Honda will be sending out notifications. You can take your vehicle in and they will replace it free of charge.

I loved my Dodge Grand Caravan, Marda - just hated the maintenance on it...

I love mine. We had 3 recalls in the first year. All cars have recalls. As long as they make it right without cost to me, it's fine.

Consumer reports indicated the door thing was a common problem with the odyssey's. Mine does it, too.

Thanks for the info...we have an 2005 so I'll have to see if it was affected. I do love mine. 150K miles so far and still going strong. Have one door that's bucking a bit when sliding closed so I have to get that fixed but otherwise, we've needed nothing beyond tires, brakes, and other wear and tear items.

Thanks for posting this! I have a 2010 Honda Odyssey, so I called our local dealership today. The repairman said the parts to replace anything wouldn't be available until summertime so notices won't even go out until that time anyway. He said unless I was smelling fuel outside/inside the car then there shouldn't be cause for concern. It is just Honda being proactive about it.
Hope this helps all this may include!

It's not clear to me what the recall means. Parts on my Dodge van have been recalled. It's just meant that I take it in to have the problem corrected at no charge to me.
