My Dr.'s office posts blood test results online now so I'm able to see them in advance of the Dr calling-which frankly I think is not a great idea...case in point:
One part of my annual blood test is back..the TSH...the result indicates that .40-5.00 is the nornal range and mine is 1.57...just so I'm clear-that's within the normal range correct?
Think of it like money.... normal is 40 cents to 5 dollars. You have $1.57. You are right in between which would be normal. If you were at 0-.39 you would be too low and if you were at 5.01 and above, you would be too high. :) I have no idea what TSH is though. Good luck!
Yes, it's normal and very healthy. The higher the number, the less hormone you have. If your # had been higher than 5, you'd need to take thyroid pills. You are good!

I have thyroid problems and am on medicine for it. Your range is perfectly normal. They are testing the thyroid more and more these days because a lot of thyroid issues go undiagnosed. Take a deep breath and relax. Even if your levels are off it is a very easy to correct it with one tiny pill in the morning.
That is a very normal lab result, but labs are not the most reliable method of testing thyroid issues; symptoms are.
