I've come across a few people who have tried this method, becuase of extreme difficulty in conceiving. They all got infections. It just doesn't sound like a good idea, personally. Putting any kind of food down there can cause huge amounts of bacteria. Eggs definitely can carry salmonella, I would be careful with this one.

I've never heard of that. We used the old-fashioned "pillow under the butt" method after sex and that worked for us. Good luck TTC!

Hi, D.,

I went through almost every form of fertility treatment to produce my first live child. None of my physicians, including obstetricians, perinatologists (high-risk obstetricians), reproductive endocrinologists, and reproductive immunologists recommended using egg whites. I'm also a health (including fertility) researcher, so I read a lot of medical journals. I have not come across what I consider compelling evidence for its use in significantly increasing the odds of conception. There are many stories of women becoming pregnant right after using egg white, but there is no way of knowing whether they became pregnant for a thousand other reasons. I suspect the thousand other reasons brought about these conceptions, to be honest. However, if you come across compelling, scientifically-substantiated evidence that supports the use of egg whites for this purpose, please let me know!

Best wishes,
Lynne

No, I haven't heard of egg whites. I can imagine what the theory is though. During the most fertile time of your cycle you have egg white like cervical mucus. In fact the natural family planning method, Creighton Method, teaches women how to identify the signs of fertility so that they may avoid pregnancy. The most obvious sign of fertility is very clear, mucus that stretches over an inch, just like egg whites. If you don't produce enough of this type of mucus, your hormones may not be working properly and it may be harder to conceive. If my memory serves me correctly a very low dose antibiotic can make cervical mucus better for conception. I haven't studied up on it lately, but if you have questions you can PM me.

We had tried different types of fertility treatments. What worked for us was using Metformin it is also a medicine for diabetics. I am not diabetic. I was able to conceive with only being on this medicine for four months.
Plus the Metformin was more cost effficent than the fertility treatment. The metformin cost about $50 a month.

Good luck
