My son Parker is two. He spent the week with me at "nana's" house and we rented toy story. He love it. So i went and bought it for him when we got home I also bought toy story 3 on accident meaning to buy toy story 2. Should I get number two and have him watch them in order to gain the concept that all the movies are linked? Or should I just let him watch the third one? This isn't a very important questioni know but I was just wondering. All the other movies he has with sequels he has both /all so i never really had to think about it before. Just curious what all you mama's would do out there :)

Should I just save it for an X-mas gift?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone. I ended up watching it with him this morning. He loved it!!!!!!! And wants to watch it again. He actually sat and watched the whole entire movie. And cried at a few parts (lol) Then clapped at the end. Someone asked what else I'd be getting him for Christmas? Oh boy lol all I have to say is SPOILED! I already have about 5 other disney and pixar movies a bunch of play dough clothes that thomas toy that follows the light a toddler remote control car and a john deer ride on tractor lol and a 75$ gift card so he can pick out his own toys also not that he knows it but 200$ in his collage fund :). This year should be fun it'll be the first year he can really enjoy x-mas! I CAN'T WAIT!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR ALL OF YOUR INPUT!!!! IT'S GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I would save it for a Christmas gift at his age. He's not going to think of them all in sequence for awhile -he'll just enjoy watching them in any order!

Neither of my kids really cared for #2 and at that age, he's not going to know the difference.

I just watched Toy Story 3 last night with my 2-year-old little man!! Hands down one of the best animated movies :) My son has never seen the second one, just the first, and he was fascinated with it...ya know for about 30 minutes and then he was running from his room to the living room playing with toys..lol! However, my husband and I watched the whole thing, even after the little one pooped out on the couch! I was too anxious to watch it, so I couldn't save it for Christmas.

my kids were about 6 and 7 when the first toy story came out. they loved toy story 1 and 2. they are adults now but took the grandkids to see them at the theater when they did that showing right before 3 came out. both of them thought 3 was a waste of time lol. but all of them are great stand alone movies also.

He'll be fine.
All 3 movies are GREAT.
getting two might give him a little more insight into some of the characters but the story is still great.

I would save it for Christmas and get him TS2 also. He'll still like it if he sees it out of order though. Just a warning, I thought TS3 was a little scary for younger kids in certain parts. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

I think he'll be fine watching them out of order. I didn't get large and multiple story lines till I was a little older. What other things are you getting him for Christmas??

you will want it, if for no other reason then it's the best of the 3 :) My husband and I love all the toy story movies, probably more then the kids do since we went to 1 when we were still childless :)

You may eventually want to buy 2 but your son is only 2 so he really won't care what order he watches them in. I myself can't wait to see 3.

My son is almost 3 and Toy Story is his favorite, I would have him watch 2 because it introduces Jessie and Bullseye. We took our son to watch 3 in theaters and he didn't seem too interested in it because it had alot of new characters in it.

Here's my thoughts. Save it for a Christmas gift unless you are really rich and can buy him lots of presents. Next it probably isn't important to him at two years old what the sequence is, although I could eat my words later. Then of course you explain it to him. You could buy Toy STory 2 now if you have extra money.
