Hey ladies I have a ton of home magazines & other misc mags that have never been read. I hate to just throw them away but not sure what to do with them. I called a few dentists office but they said they had a ton. I will put them in my recycling next week but I was hoping someone would benefit from them. Any suggestions?
Call around various churches. Many sunday schools would love to take them. Also check with regular schools and as a last resort, donate them to a thrift store. There is one at Sunray Shopping Center. I give a lot of donations to them, which reminds me I also have another load of clothes to get there:)
Ask your daughters teacher if they want them my kids school is always looking for them they cut out pictures, words etc... for projects in the classroom and in the art room.
I think the Salvation Army, Good Will, The Vets of America, St. Vincent De Paul, etc. all take old magazines to sell in their stores. I'd call ahead to be sure, but that might be a good place for them.
If they are family-friendly magazines preschools, child care centers and YMCAs will often use them for projects for the kids. Our YMCA Kid Stuff in Eagan loves to receive magazines the kids can cut up. Or, if they are Family Fun magazines they read them for activity ideas. Our YMCA also has magazines out in the fitness area for people to read while working out. Try a YMCA or other fitness center.
I would contact your school to see if any of the teachers can use the magazines for craft projects.
As a former teacher, I am sure local schools would really appreciate them!
