Here are a few options:

*Frankenmuth - fun things to see and do

*Huckelberry Railroad

*Local beaches / waterparks

*Detroit Science Center - they have this new attraction "Kids Town" that is AWESOME (it's like a little town - firehouse; stage with dress up things; library; water feature they can put their hands in; vet clinic where they can pretend to be vets; sport room with balls; diner with a kitchen so they can make mommy & daddy food; art room, etc) - obviously your 7 week old is too young, but your 2 year old would probably love it! (My husband, my 2 year old and I got in for under $15 - they have other attractions that cost extra, but this was enough for us and my son loved it!) I can't rave on this enough....

*go to a local bounce house

*Peach Festival in Romeo is this weekend

*Go to the park (either a park or even an elementary school playground)

*Yates Cider Mill

*Bake cookies together

*Halloween costume shopping :)

I know I have other ideas, I just can't think!

www.events.detnews.com usually shows a variety of things available to do in the area (festivals, local events, games, concerts, movies in the park, etc - search by area, what you want to do, date...)

Have fun! I'm looking forward to reading other responses, too, for some ideas!

Hi Amy, congrats on the new baby! I remember how it feels to need to get out when my boys were that age! How about metro park? They have a great spray park for your 2 year old. My kids are 3 and 1 and they love it. We like to go walking on the boardwalk and look at the boats. It also has one of my favorite playgrounds there. There's a country village place at aprox. 31mile and Van Dyke. They have a petting zoo and and great ice cream, cute little shops and stuff. Rochester hills has a farmer's market Sat. mornings in down town. That's neat to just walk around and look at stuff with kids. Dont' forget it's getting to be cider mill season! Hope this helps!

Hey there Amy!

Do you have a library card?? There is a wonderful program where you can check out coupons for free admission to museums and other places of interest around the Detroit Metro area. You can go to:
http://www.detroitadventurepass.org/
to find out which ones might be of interest to you and your family. (This might also be a great reason to look into getting a library card... if you don't have one already.)
Hope this helps.. and have a GREAT WEEKEND.. whatever you do!!
Peace,
B.

The Oakland County Parks are great for hiking, biking and just plain walking.

The waterparks have reduced fees this weekend.

Arts Beats and Eats is going on in Pontiac. I've gone before and had a nice time. Admission is free but the kiddie rides cost tickets.
