What are the pros & cons of some of the steam mops. There are so many out there, I would like to get away from using harsh chemicals. Thank you.

I have an H2O mop and love it. The recall is only for the older ones. Here is a link about it.

The ones being sold in stores now are not part of the recall. I really like mine... don't know why other people haven't liked them...

I have bought Shark products in the past and did not like them at all, I thought they were really cheap and fell apart easily.

I have the Eureka Envirosteamer and I love it. I just have to fill it with water once and it cleans my kitchen, living room and 2 small bathrooms. No more buying swiffers or carrying a mop and bucket around. The water dries almost instantly. The pads are machine washable which is also a plus. The only con I would say about this one is that my bathrooms are pretty small and the "head" I guess you would call it is a little difficult to manuever around my toilets. Besides that, I couldn't be happier-it makes life much easier!

Hi,
I have a shark steam mop. LOVE IT! I bought it at Kohl's so if I did not like it I can return it. I have had mine for 2 years and it is still going strong! I use it everywhere in my house. Good luck!

I purchased the Haan Floor Sanitizer after (*sigh*) watching an infomercial, not something I usually do. I paid a fortune for the "fifteen steam jets" that's in "every home in Japan," yet I hardly see steam flying out of it like on TV. It doesn't clean into those little crevices that most kitchen floors have either. For around $189 for the cleaner and extra pads I'm going to force myself to use it. My mother has the Shark and she loves it. I should have asked Mamasource before I purchased mine! Good thinking!

I had a Bissell and loved it but it died on me and someone else said it did the same to her on a different post. The H2O mop has been recalled, though some stores still have it. It can cause an electric shock. I recently bought the Enviro steamer someone else mentioned. I think it is okay. You cannot get into corners very well because the cloth they provide does not get any steam and it does not seem to give off much steam either. However, I did see a comment on line that someone used a regular towel and it worked better. I will be trying that. If all fails, it will be returned and I will be turning to the Shark.

I have the Shark Steam Mop. It works great on dirt footprints from kids and dog. I recommend using an electric broom or hand broom first before using it because it doesn't pick up grass, dog hair, etc. All it does is push that stuff around on the floor. I still use the "old stand by" mop and bucket to do deep cleaning. The steam mop is only good for quick clean-ups or in-between regular mopping. If you want to avoid harsh chemicals on tile or ceramic floors try vinegar and water. It works great! Hope this helps.
