Thank You Ideas for Husband's Co-workers

My husband was on an out of town work trip in St. Louis a few weeks ago with 2 co-workers and got extremely ill and they took him to the emergency room (actually 2 hospitals, the 1st one didn't think he was ill enough to help him immediately). After a few hours at the hospital, they found out he had a perforated appendix and needed it removed immediately.
My question is, how or what can we do to thank them? They were with him for hours at the hospital and were there until I could drive down to be with him and bring him home. We don't just want to say thanks with flowers. I was thinking gift certificates for massages. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for the wonderful ideas. I spoke with my husband and I think we are going to invite them over to our house for a nice dinner.

This was very nice to hear (read). Some people are still very considerate and thoughtful, even when we think the world has went to hell. (sorry just wanted to vent, a little) I think gift certificates would very nice. Maybe the flowers as well.

I always like to say thank you by putting together a little gift basket with some homemade baked goodies.

I think gift certificates to a really nice restaurant..
Some people do not like massages or people touching them..

How about a nice letter and either invite them over for dinner or to dinner at a restaurant?

what great co-workers! I think your idea about gift certificates for massages is nice. It is often something people don't always do for themselves. You could also invite them over for a nice dinner at your home.

I agree with the earlier response about avoiding the massages as some people have major issues with touching or being undressed around others but if they are women, a lot of the spas also have additional services that they could use a gift certificate for (not so much for men though). A handwritten note from yourself (and from your kids if they are old enough to do so) will probably mean the most to them but because I also like to get something in addition the dinner out is a good idea if no spa certificate. If they were men (or even women) and your hubby knows anything about their hobbies or likes a gift certificate aimed at that might be good also (i.e. golf, crafts, etc.) Glad he is okay and that he was with people good enough to show they care.

Awwww....I'm sure they don't think they did anything out of the ordinary but it would be nice to do something--gift certificate to dinner or better yet--if you can--everyone goes out together and you guys get the tab.

Wow, what a nice thing to do for someone! I'm sure it was such a help to him just to have someone by his side until you could be there. I think taking them out to dinner one night is great idea. I'm sure it would be nice to get together and then you can thank them while giving them a nice evening out- maybe even a thank you toast during dinner.
I'm glad your husband was able to get the medical attention he needed and I hope he's recovering alright!

It is nice to hear of someone's kindness. If your husband has acaomeone close working relationship with them you could take them and their significant other out for dinner. If they are not so close then a gift certificate and a nicely written thank you note would work. I am glad your hubby is okay. That must have been scary for you. I can guess your relief that someone was there to ensure he was okay while you could get to his side.

Wow, what nice coworkers! I'm not sure if they are male or female but for females you might consider Spa Finder gift certificates; that way they can choose their own spa and service. For males, I've sent Golf Wish gift cards (if I know they are golfers) so they can choose a course and play a round on me. Or maybe a restaurant gift card with movie tickets for a night out on you guys. Whatever you do will be great.

I probably would go with a gift certificate for a nice restaurant. Lots of people aren't "into" massages.

Restaurant gift certificates or a store like macys or target might be better. Not everyone enjoys massage-although I do!
