My 20mo old daughter has alot of hair. Now that it is getting longer it is starting to get more tangled and I hate pulling at her hair. I have tried Johnsons & Johnsons detangler spray, but it is not seeming to work. I put it on right after a bath and that is about it. Does anybody have any recommendations on products on wet AND dry hair. I would really appreciate and advice anybody has. I am sure that my daughter will thank you also!!

What can I do next?

Infussion it comes in a spray or leave in and I use it on both of my girls have since they were little! Works great and my step mother and aunt recommend it and they are hair dressers! Good luck!

I would definetly either use a conditioner when washing her hair or else a apray in conditioner after bath (if you are afraid of the regular conditioner getting in her eyes.) Then I would use a detangler at every brushing. I normally use Suave or L'Oreal kids sprays. A wide tooth comb dones help. Also - start at the bottom on the hair and work your way up.

Hey S.!

We can relate to very thick hair!

We have had sucess with the Loreal Kids spray on dry hair, in the green bottle.

I also make a mixture with an old spry bottle with about a 1/4 cup of pantene pro-V conditioner and water while the hair is wet, then I use a wide tooth comb, then I braid it while it is wet when ever I can get them to sit still long enough. We may take it out later, but while they sleep, it does not get all tangled agian. My girls hair is so thick that it is usually still damp in the morning, so it combs well and looks fine.

We have started to have the salon thin out thier hair about twice a year, but it looks funny if you do it more than that.

Hope this helps!

I have a lot of hair, but it's baby baby fine. If there is a slight breeze, it turns into a tangled mess! I can remember using conditioner at a very young age. I know there are special conditioners and leave in conditioners for kids. Just stay away from any type of Pantene products. Pantene leaves a waxy deposit behind on the hair. I was a faithful Pantene user for years and my hairdresser could take my hair and actually scrape off tons of the wax that the Pantene left behind. Now that I don't use it, my hair is so much healthier and doesn't look dull anymore. Sorry, for the novel. I just couldn't believe I'd spent all that money on hair care products and it was pretty much wasted! I think Johnson and Johnson makes a detangler shampoo and conditioner for kids.

Try a de-tangling shampoo with the spray, you can try pulling her hair back for bed time, that's helped me with my daughter's hair. Also you can wet and use the spray on the really tough places during the day.

My 2 year old has the same problem. I bought a wide tooth comb that is designed for wet hair and tangles. I use a shampoo/conditioner combo for kids and Pantene Pro-V leave in spray conditioner which I LOVE! Hope that helps.

Paul Mitchell and Aveda make leave-in conditioners. You can use it right after shampooing and it makes tangles no problem. You can also use it on dry hair to help with tangles, static, etc. You want to be careful not to use too much because it will make your hair tacky and gooey. I use it on my hair (long and fine) and on my daughter's hair (short and fine), work it through with your hands/fingers and then a wide tooth comb. Hope this helps.
