Stink Bugs?

I'm thinking napalm.
HATE them. I've found them in my house, here & there ALL winter long! I suspect they are holed up in the attic...

Stink bugs are not earwigs! They are an entity unto themselves...

Unfortunately my 2 cats are useless in the stink bug situation....they hate them as much as I do!! I usually just flush them or toss them back outside. I accidentally vacuum them up sometimes, which is nasty. I've heard that you can put them in bowls of Dawn dishwashing liquid, but I've never tried that. And sometimes, I dip them in chocolate for a quick treat. TOTALLY KIDDING! :)

They are horrible. I have heard there will soon be a pheromone trap for them like I think there is for Japanese beetles. According to exterminators there is nothing that works. We take ours outside one at a time or flush them. Happily - they do not reproduce indoors, do not eat clothes or food in the pantry and should be gone once the weather is warm again.

I think stink bugs and earwigs are the same bug and yes they are disgusting. One of my neigjhbors accidently infested our neighborhood a fews ago, she got free compost from the city and it was infested with earwigs. The best way to keep them out is to lay down a fairly thick layer of inscectide around the foundation of your house. You can get either granduals (sp)or spray from a big box hardware store/garden center the kind that says it gets rid of like 30 different pests. As soon as the frost is out of the ground, lay this stuff down. I hate using any chemicals in my garden or yard I keep thinking about it getting in the water and hurting the wildlife. But sometimes you just have too.
Earwigs like moist areas and the area around your house is often more wet then the rest of the grass. I have heard that using stones or cedar mulch around the house prevents earwigs, I have also heard it doesn't work at all.

I do not think there is anything that kills them, except very strong pesticides.

question...what is a stink bug?? i am from wa state...never heard of them. they sound horrible.
