I am considering purchasing a steam mop to use on both my bathroom floors (tile) and hardwood floors (maple and bamboo). Can anyone make a recommendation? I am considering the Shark model, but have read mixed reviews to this point.

What can I do next?

I asked for the Bissell for Christmas based on the opinion of a friend who has had Shark products before . . . I LOVE mine! It is easy to use and only takes a second to get ready. Easy to get out, use and put away. I would recommend on going ahead and getting extra pads now so you always have clean ones on hand. I wish I had one more set for a total of 4.

My mother and I both got the Shark... and we love it. I have tile floors and it works great. My mom has hardwood and it works great on hers too!

I have the shark mop and use it on my laminate floors. I love it but it does seem to leave a duller look - maybe it's the floors. My mom has borrowed this for her house and liked it, but went out and bought the H2O steam mom. this had a few features that I even like better than the shark. First with the shark you push on the handle to make it steam and at first it feels flimsy like it is going to break. The H2O has a button on the handle that you squeeze only when you wan the steam. The shard has a rectangle pad and is hard to mauever in places like around the toilet. the H2O has a triangle shaped head and gets closer to where you want it to go. Both work well, but it depends on what you would be more comfortable. Also we did check about the streaking with both companyies and they told us until you get rid of every bit of residue ever on the floor which could be layers deep without looking like it then it would continue to do this a bit. If you have a bed, bath and beyond near you I believe they now carry both and they take coupons so you can usually get a better price. they are also good at taking things back if you aren't satisfied with the product. good luck

Hi, I have the Haan floor steam cleaner and it works fantastic on my hardwood floors, vinyl and tile. It has 15 jets of steam that clean and sanitise all of my floors, plus it dries almost immediately. Never leaves streaks of any kind. I highly recommend it. Hope this helps, J.

i wanted one too and i heard that the Shark is really cheaply made and horrendous to get fixed. A friend of mine has one and said that it's great because it dries really quickly, but did nothing for their tile floors.

I have the Shark mop. I love it for my tile floors, but NOT on my hardwood. It takes the shine off of them and makes them look dull. I just use a microfiber dust mop on my hardwood with OrangeGlo cleaner. I don't do it that often...for sticky places I just use a Mr Clean sponge to get those up. When you use the Shark Mop...if you haven't vacuumed really well it will just push lines of dust and turn them to wet dust/mud if you aren't careful.

I have the Shark Steam Mop. LOVE IT! I only wish I had purchased the one with the longer cord.

It cleans my kitchens and bathrooms wonderfully. I do get a little line if I haven't swept well, but I also get that with a Swifter or sponge mop. When I mop my kitchen doesn't have any sticky chemicals on the floor, no harsh smell and the floor drys in about 1-2 minutes.

I also picked up the Sharp hand held steamer... Love that too. It works great on windows, mirrors, toilets, doors, door frames, outside of 'fridge, stove and dishwasher, and dog slobber on windows. :)

I do not have hard wood, so I can't tell you anything on that.
