Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with St. Christophers Montessori located off Lovers and Central in Dallas. I'm trying to decide between them and the JCC Taglit preschool for my 18 month old. Any advice, suggestions would be much appreciated.

So What Happened?

Thank's to all who responded with advice! The JCC Taglit Preschool was very expensive until they offerred us a scholarship so Jack will be attending in the fall! St. Christopher's was my second (more affordable) choice and I thought the people there were very loving and experienced.

As a student, St. Christopers was kind enough to allow my class to come in and practice giving assessments on the kids (with parent permission of course) they are VERY nice. However, the facility itself isn't that impressive. It's not a completely true montessori approach but their are A LOT of teachers and a low student to teacher ratio. The classrooms are very large and staff was friendly. I've also heard GREAT things about the JCC and I have in the past been a nanny for kids who participated in other programs there and I've never heard one complaint. I think either choice is a good one.

I noticed that you didn't get responses on this question. My knowledge is only second hand, but a co worker of mine said he was happy with this reasonably priced school. I don't know much more than that. Sorry.

Hi R.,

Unfortunately I do not have any idea about the montessori, but I have a question of my own. I will be shifting to an apartment in the Village since I am going back to School at SMU starting August. I have a 2 and a half year old son and I will need occasional care for him in the evenings when I have evening classes etc. Since you seem to be from that area I was wondering if you know of any babysitters who could be relied upon to take care of my son in the evenings maybe twice a week. Any inputs would be much appreciated.

Thanks
S.

I had my son there for about 2 years. It is a good school and the staff is very caring toward the children. I don't think the children learn as much as I was expecting, but they were loved and cared for. The baby room is excellent - but I was a little less impressed with the room for the 3 -5 year olds. Hope this helps. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
