Something Feels Wrong

Sorry for the lengthy question but I am hoping that someone has some insight. I have been on birth control for about a year and just last week I stopped due to no heath insurance. Now the past three weeks I have been feeling off, for lack of a better word to describe it. I am extremely tired and irritable, I find myself very emotional and just a lack of energy. I have been having some cramping sometimes mild but sometimes a little more extreme. My lower back feel like there is a lot of extra pressure on it (like I was eight months pregnant) Every once and a while I feel a little sick to my stomach and light headed. I missed my last period but this is not uncommon for me but it has never happened when I was on birth control. I don't feel that I am pregnant but I do feel that something isn't right. Before I had my daughter I was on fertility drugs for two years, had surgury to reverse endometriosos and had some palups removed from my overies. I always think worst case cenario and fear that maybe another palup has grown and could have turned into something worse. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this or have any ideas what could be causing all these symptoms? I could really use some help.

What can I do next?

I have not been on birth control in many years but I'm thinking it could be possible that your body is reacting to not taking the pills. Especially since you only started having these symptoms after you stopped taking the pill. I remember when I first started the pills (which was some time ago) that I had some of those symptoms you described. I was told that it would take for my body to get adjusted to the hormones.
You should check with your Dr. to be sure

M.,

Please go to your local Planned Parenthood or free clinic, they will help you with your birth control needs. If you are pregnant, they can help you with that too.

Blessings...

All the moms have great answers and I would like to add that since you do not have insurance I would suggest you find another form of birth control. Condoms cost about six bucks a packet, a child's lifetime expenses are definitely over $100,000 these days. And planned parenthood could definitely help with that, as well as your state Board of Health.

Well, as someone who suffered from endometriosis for years, my guess would be that your endo could be coming back.
Birth control actually can trick our bodies into thinking it's pregnant which can help keep endo at bay. Pregnancy is also good for endometriosis.
I had severe endo and both times after having a baby, I was right back in the hospital. It came back with a vengeance.
You should go to the doctor. Your body might just be adjusting to not having the hormones from the birth control, or maybe you have something else going on.
You could be pregnant. You could have a cyst on your ovary.
Just go get checked out.
Having no health insurance sucks, but there are clinics that charge on a sliding scale.

I wish you the best.

My best guess is that it's just the hormonal shift of going off of them. I don't recall experiencing anything too bad when I did when TTC, but everyone is different. You might consider going in to Planned Parenthood for low-cost healthcare and pills. Wouldn't hurt to double check that all is well.

I just came off birth control pills a couple months ago and your experience sounds a lot like mine. The hormone shifts can really wreak havoc on your body. I am guessing it will level out in a month or so. Good luck!

hormonal imbalance from getting off bcp! Try doing some deep, belly breathing every day to handle stress and tension, make sure you are getting lots of veggies in your diet and try acupuncture~

1 will get you 50 it's the lack of hormones. Many women feel like that ON bcp, while some feel like that OFF bcp.

2nd going to planned parenthood and getting them there... or asking your doc for samples
