Silly question - not that I am expecting Oscar quality or anything, but I am an 80s child and former Smurf nerd! How is this movie? Some kids movies look sooooo painful for an adult to sit through (Zoo Keeper looks absolutely awful, for example). Y or N?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We saw it on Sunday and boy was it worth it! I even found my original Smurfette doll from the 80s! I'm buying the Smurfing movie when it comes out on DVD :)

Cute, but different. I wished they had stayed cartoons and in the forest... but still worth seeing if you are a hardcore fan like I am!! :)

The movie is really cute. It's not a lot like the cartoon we remember from the 80's so that will be a let down but overall it was a good movie and had a good story line so you will appreciate the effort put in there. Also, I would not recommend seeing it in 3d. Not sure what the purpose of that is because nothing really looks like 3d at all.

I too was a child of the 80's with my huge smurf collection sitting on my desk at school and was not sure what to expect, but it really was such a cute movie! My husband even enjoyed it - well, also a smurf fan as a child :) Most important, my 6 yr old daughter LOVED it! She even wants to my smurfette for Halloween! It was very watchable, and I didn't get bored. I agree with whoever said not to waste your time seeing it in 3D - there is more 3D in the previews than in the movies, and since 3D is more expensive - why waste the money? Go- you'll enjoy!

I saw the Smurfs with both of mine and a friend of my sons. I think the boys (6 yr) were bored at points but I didn't think it was hideous. There were definitely lines that fell flat with the kids and the adults but nothing I can recall that my kids were going to go around repeating and driving me nuts. Story line was also decent and touching. Hank Azarias bad comb over as Gargamel was the worst of it I would say

I really liked it. I took my boys 6 & 9 to it and they enjoyed it too (especially the 9 year old). it was better than I thought it would be!

My mom, sis, and kids just saw it. I don't think its as good as 'The Chipmonks', but they said it was fun. My kids have been singing 'the song' for 2 days!

It was a pretty good movie. Then again we went to the Drive-ins cause I wanted the kids to experience something I did when I was a kid. They both liked the movie and my 9 year old says he likes the drive-ins better than the theatre. Plus it is priced much better and you can bring in your own food. But that is off topic. Overall an enjoyable movie.
