Seeking Recommendation for Local Acupuncture

I don't know about acupuncture, but I do know of several fibromyalgia sufferers who have had significant relief with a Ceragem bed. There is a Ceragem dealer on 87th street, near the Johnson County Library, which allows people to try the Ceragem bed for 30 days at the store and then, if you purchase sheets for $35 or so, you can actually continue to come to the store for treatments indefinitely. The Ceragem bed can also be purchased for around $3000-$3500, but the cool thing is, you can try it out for FREE for 30 days-you just have to go to the store! I do not have fibromyalgia, but I do have a lot of lower back issues and after using a Ceragem bed at my chiropractor's office for a few months, and finding a great deal of relief, I purchased one and now use it in my home.

My mother in law recently started acupuncture for her fibromyalgia and is liking it. Her second session, she had the electro-acupuncture (not sure if that's the right name for it) and she said it helped even more than the plain 'ol acupuncture. She's in kind of a small town in S. Dakota, so it's great that she found acupuncture. Best of luck for a great experience for your mom.

I concur with a couple other responders...Shamayne Tate at Your Wellness Connection in Shawnee and Mary Zhang in Kansas City are both excellent. I have gone to them both personally and would recommend each of them highly.

You might also try reflexology--it can help to balance the body and many people find relief from pain. Michael Pizzuto at Body Mechanix in Overland Park (93rd and Antioch) is a massage therapist and reflexologist and could potentially help your mom.
