Hello Mamas! In my effort to go "green" I am looking for a company near North Dallas/Carrollton who recycles paper, glass, and plastic. I am also looking to buy reusable cloth grocery bags. Anyone done this and can tell me somewhere they are cheap? I've looked online and they seem expensive:( Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I have turned all my old diaper bags, beach bags, knapsacks, etc. into grocery bags and they work perfect. I have only had to buy 3 retail bags, 1 from whole foods, which is really roomy and 2 from sprouts(easily compacted). My kids think it is great and are eager to help :)

I also bought some of Krogers bags. They are very durable and hold a lot.

As for recycling, my parents live in Carrollton, and I know the city has recycling. My parents recycle all the things you mentioned. You might want to call up to the city to get more information.

Hi J.,

I can't help you with the recycling...we fortunately have curbside recycling pick-up. But, I can tell you where to get the bags! I had looked online too, but ended up buying some from Kroger. They were only $1 and are really wonderful! You can put a ton of stuff in them and they're very sturdy! I've also seen them at Walmart & Walgreens for $1.

If you're looking to go "green" in your home too - I can help you with that. Getting better safer products...cleaning, laundry, personal, etc...it'll save you money, time at the grocery/drug store and is very money wise! Besides having a safer home and helping the environment around you, it can help with issues such as excema, allergies and asthma!!

You can pm me and I'll give you a call and we can talk.

I was in the checkout lane at Walmart and saw those cloth bags for $1 each. Paper recycling is easier than the others - just look for churches or schools with paper recycling dumpsters.

My favorite are the Target bags - they have some really large ones that fold down to about 8x8 and snap close but they are VERY roomy and sturdy when you open them - the sackers at my Kroger have even commented on how much they love them.
