If you kids school does these events, Do you skate??

We are getting to go to our first one tonight.

He is only six.....so it is not like I would be making him feel uncool....So would you skate?

I am not sure if we are going to attempt all three boys...Or if my hubby is gonna want to come...So who knows what will hit me when I get there.

What would you do Ladies?? OR What do you do while these types of things are going on..Where you just have to be there??

What can I do next?

Yes! I love roller skating, sooo much fun, it always makes me feel like a kid again. And I still get a little thrill when they announce "couples skate" :)

Go for it girl! You could have a lot of fun yourself, not just the boys :) I always loved those skating parties, they keep you young at heart!

I'm so glad you asked this, My kids are easily distracted if i offer them an alternative activity so we haven't gone yet. I thought maybe it would be all teen-y and boring for me. We will definatley have to go and I will be skating too!!

I totally would! Then again, I grew up roller skating competitively, so I don't think I'd make a fool of myself. I LOVE all forms of skating. My husband, would probably bring a book. He's not so big on the skating thing.

I go with my boys. They are 6 and 9. They don't really need my help anymore, but they are not embarrassed (yet) to skate with me. I enjoy it and I enjoy spending time with the boys doing something fun like this.

I do when it is not too crowded, but remember, there will be a ton of kids who don't know how to skate. The first time I went, I compared it to skating through asteroids (like the video game). Also, many of the boys skate as fast as they can when they are learning and crash constantly. Good luck!

My daughters school does do skate nights, we do go (the whole family) and I do not skate. But my husband does, and we usually invite a friend.

The reason I do not skate is because you cannot pick up a child while you are wearing skates. We have a 3yo who loves to skate, but can easily get bored with it and want to be picked up. So, I don't skate so I can entertain her if she gets tired of skating.

I do however take copious amounts of pictures, which I give to the yearbook co-ordinator. Then I delete any picture that doesn't have my girls in it (or is completely blurry), so we have a little memory of that skate night.

YES! I did go twice. The first time was okay but the second time, I was over 50 (I wasn't as limber I guess...). And -- busted my can! Ow! I had to sit on a donut pillow for 2 weeks @ work.

I'd do it again, though. I've even bought new skates!

Ice skating or in line skates? I ice skate in line is another matter. Just go and find out what is happening. Most likely your children will have a good time.

Is it a family skate event or an event for a specific grade? I would probably not skate, I would socialize with the other adults. Also, I probably would not bring younger kids...

My son and husband both skate anyways, so DH definitely would. Me, on the other hand, probably NOT. I've had a couple of lessons and know the basics, but, I'm just not into falling and hurting myself.

If it were really important to my son for me to skate, then yes, I probably would. But, if he keeps quiet, I'm goin no where near the ice.
