Ridgepointe Neighborhood in the Colony

We LOVE The Colony! We have lived there (in Northpointe) for over 10 years. Having lived in Houston, Lubbock, and other areas of Dallas, The Colony has a "home town" feel like no other. I know we don't have everything you need in our town, but whatever you would want, you are only 5 or 10 minutes away from it. I have several friends that live in Ridgepoint and they love it (have several in The Legends as well). Northpointe is not the newest development in town, but it feels "homey". We have a homeowners association but do not have fees (which I know are high in The Legends, Stewart's, etc). Good luck where ever you decide to move!

You could move to Paloma creek, we hav a house right next door for sale and would love some friendly neighbors. We came from the midwest were wveryone was eachothers friend, babysitter, "sister" it was great. We have been here 3 years and still know no one on our street???????? The school is great we have an 8 year old boy,2 5 year old boys and a 2 year old girl. J. S.

Many areas of The Colony are nice, but most areas also will have some crime (even gated). For homebuyers a realtor is typically free to them and have a lot of knowledge to help navigate much more than just the neighborhood. I can provide you with statistics about the area as well as which neighborhoods are doing better at maintaining their values, vs the neighborhoods that have been hit hard by foreclosures. If you would like peace of mind, and knowledge you had someone working for you (for free) please contact me. A realtor can also make sure you are getting the true value of the home - all of the free sites that offer values are typically off as many are drawn from the tax value, and tax value is not market value.

I was raised in The Colony and you couldn't pay me enough to live back there. I would get out of The Colony as fast as you got there.

I don't know specifics about that neighborhood, but when we moved here a few years ago, we were looking in The Colony for homes and it seemed like a very nice place to live. However, we were given a website, I think it was www.familywatchdog.us, that lists registered sex offenders. You can put in a specific address, and it will give you the locations of sex offenders near that address. The reason we decided NOT to move to The Colony was because every address that we happened to look up of houses that we really liked had one (or more) registered offenders within 1/4 mile of the house we were looking at. And we just got tired of that being the case, so we looked elsewhere instead. But you could check out the website for yourself and see if it's helpful for houses you are looking at - oh, and I don't know how often the website is updated, so it could be old information, but better safe than sorry!
