Does anyone have a great recipe for rice pilaf? I love rice pilaf and can't seem to find a recipe that has the flavor or texture that I'm looking for. I love the rice pilaf at restaurants but haven’t been able to duplicate any of those recipes at home. I have used the boxed mixes and they are good, but I don’t like all the non-food items in them. I’ve tried many recipe websites and still can’t find one to my satisfaction. Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the suggestions and recipe...I'm going to try the recipe from allrecipes.com and see how that tastes. I'm really trying to get away from the boxed varities with all the chemicals...I'm super sensitive to MSG and just about every pre-packaged food item contains tons of the nasty stuff.

Now and then I stop at my favorite Chinese restaurant and get some to bring home to go with dinner. Want the address? lol

The restaurants are using Near East or another boxed mix! You can use those if you double the amount of rice, adding your own rice and water or chicken/veg stock, even a little white wine! It dilutes the amount of salt and spices in there. Otherwise buy your own rice and orzo, and use any of the flavorings you see on the boxes - curry, Parmesan, Mexican spices, and so on. You can also add fresh herbs in the last 10 minutes of cooking.
