Redwood City or Santa Clara Kaiser?

I recently learned that my regular and most favorite in the whole world OB/GYN at Redwood City Kaiser is moving on from clinical work to managing a new department. I had a feeling she was on her way up, but I just learned I'm pregnant and I was really hoping for her support and advice through my second pregnancy. Since my daughter was born we've moved to Mountain View and Redwood City and Santa Clara Kaiser are more or less equidistant from us now. I can't decide if I should stay with Redwood City Kaiser and the facility I know or move to Santa Clara Kaiser, which is newer. Also, I could see an OB/GYN at the Mountain View Kaiser clinic, but would have to deliver at Santa Clara with a doctor guaranteed not to be mine.
Any suggestions or recommendations?
Any OBs you particularly love or hate at Redwood City, Mountain View, or Santa Clara?
Thank you so much!!

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your kind responses and recommendations. I'll be looking into the Mountain View/Santa Clara combo for this pregnancy.

A.,

I live in Redwood City but delivered at Santa Clara (I work in San Jose) As the first post said- you would not be guaranteed to have your own Doc deliver- however, it is a beautiful new facility and unless there is a major baby boom on your delivery day- it is all private rooms. Nursing staff was good- especially the day staff. I also love the peds staff and the newborn club concept. My doc is Martin Wong but not sure he is taking new patients. I also saw a couple of his associates but can't remember names...but was very happy with the clinic as well.

Hope this helps- good luck and congrats!

I go to the Mt.View Kaiser for my Ob/gyn and pediatrician. I recently changed Ob/gyn's because mine (who I loved) also left Kaiser. I have been to several of them up there and would recommend Dr. Forgy, Dr. Aslan, or Dr. Branson. I chose Dr. Forgy. With Kaiser, (I delivered a week ago) they rotate doctors in L&D and you never know who will be there when you deliver. So as far as going to Mt. View, RWC, or SC it doesn't garantee your doctor will be there the day you go in. The new facility is really nice by the way.
As far as a pediatrician, I love, love, love Dr Tuch in Mt. View. I take both my boys to her. (2yrs old and 1 week old).

All is true. I worked at the RWC facility and now I am wondering which MD is moving up!. I am now working at the santa clara facility and love it. I delivered my baby at the Santa Clara facility and did everything natural. The staff and rooms were very nice and I received great care. I used to want a home/water birth but after my experience I will stick to the hospital!. My OB was Andrea Aslan from Mountain VIew, but Dr. Bryant from Campbell actually delivered my son. It's true, unless you have a scheduled c-section or something most likely your MD will not deliver your baby, but for me that really didn't matter. depending on when you are due, most likely Santa Clara will have their medical record system in place...and oh.. Santa Clara has something that other Kaisers do not... wireless access for patients in the hospital. So, now your significant other/ husband doesn't have to leave you to go upload pics or send emails to all your family and friends waiting to see pics of your new bundle of joy..

I had a great experience with Santa Clara Kaiser for delivery - great nurses, doctors and facility. I was very into having a "natural birth" experience, and all involved were very supportive. My only complaint was hospital food - bring your own. I forget our doctors names, but both were young, female interns that were excellent!!!

I just delivered my son at the Santa Clara facility in January and was very impressed. I had received my OB care from Joanna Stark in the Campbell Medical Offices and she was wonderful. She was not on duty during my delivery, but all the doctors were great. My nurses were fantastic, and they have a huge role in your experience.
Good luck, and congratulations on your new little one!

Congratulations on your 2nd baby! I don't have a specific doctor recommendation - mine retired. I just wanted to give you a heads up that even if your doctor is at Santa Clara, you are not guaranteed that they will be the one to deliver your baby. Who ever is on duty in L&D will be the one to deliver so don't let influence your decision.
