Really FRUSTRATED!?

I think this sounds normal.

That is an area or the body that because of its location does not get a lot of air.. Then every time she has to go to the potty, it becomes moist again.. It will take some time..

Can she sleep without panties and go through out the day without panties at home? This may help..

I remember it took a while for my tear after giving birth a while to heal.. I bet it will also take her a while.

I am glad she will be going to the doctor so she can let you know how it looks.

If it's only hurting in the place she was injured, and not all over her vulva, I'd say it's the healing cut getting irritated by the urine. The neosporin makes kind of a waterproof barrier and protects the ouchie from urine. Without it, it burns when she pees. Sounds pretty reasonable. Keep the neosporin on it for now (or at least a little Vaseline or something).

I just thought I would say that you should hopefully be washing the cut off after she pee's...just like you do after vaginal births that caused cuts....cause the pee stings and can continue to if not washed off. The neosporine is probably helping that stinging to go away and stay away because of the vasoline in it...

It will take a while to heal...and it will hurt on and off.

If the medicine you are talking about is the neosporin then the reason is easy. It probably did have a scab that fell off and now the tender skin isn't liking having urine on it. The neosporin is gel based so it waterproofs the skin. Once it fully heals it will be fine.

Is the medicine greasy? It's probably forming a barrier the pee and the skin.

Does the neosporin tube say "pain relief"? Maybe that's why?

Did the doctor do a pee test on her to make sure she hasn't contracted a UTI through this?

My guess if it's not entirely healed, pee is making it burn and the neosporin acts as a barrier. You don't give the age, but if she's 3, she just might be fearful and finds comfort from the medicine.

I had to have surgery on my hooha to remove scar tissue from giving birth. Afterwards, they told me to put on Neosporin with pain relief. It really did help keep it from burning when I peed (although that wasn't the whole reason for it, obviously). Depending on where the cut is, having her lean all the way forward when she pees might also help to keep it off of the area effected. I know it helped me.

I fully agree with Thea S. I would also have her drink tons of water. This way the pee will burn less. Poor little girl :(

If were a yeast infection or urinary tract infection, it would be burning every time she peed, even after putting neosporin on it. Probably just still healing or comfort. Don't think you have anything to worry about as far as yeast infection goes.

Well, my only experience with this type of injury was after childbirth, when I had some tears. I remember it hurt like the dickens when I peed! OMG, as if it doesn't hurt enough to have a cut down there, peeing on it is like rubbing salt in the wound! I don't know if you experienced this after your daughter was born, but this exact thing is why they always give you a squirt bottle that you're supposed to spray down there while you're peeing - to dilute the pee so it doesn't feel so awful. (Sorry, way TMI!) I imagine the Neosporin is simply protecting the wound. I would keep putting it on there as long as she feels like she needs it. Of course, the doctor should check to make sure it's not infected as well.

Neosporin is an antibiotic cream, so she has been on antibiotics. I think the doctor is best qualified to figure out what is going on here.

If you look at the tube of neosporin, you are likely to see that it is a triple-antibiotic. while it is not as strong as a systemic antibiotic, you are applying it directly to the area that is usually that we have the resultant yeast infections.

Just a thought---maybe she is just wanting more medicine. She may be wanting attention. This is common, whether it's a kid wanting a bandaid for everything or saying they have a tummy ache or head ache just to get some medicine and attention. Hopefully the docotor will help you tell for sure.

It does sound like its the cut being bothered by her going. See the dr to double check but just keep area covered till it healed as urine is an irritant. Good luck and hope she heals fast. also look for witch hazel .. or tucks pads to help clean the cut area .
