I know this sounds weird but I think my son might be alleric to the Kraft Mac and Cheese that they serve at Chili's. We have been there 2x and ordered the Mac and Cheese and on the way home he throws up. He does not have a fever and does not act sick or even cry after it happens. He eats the box mac and cheese at home ALL the time and has ordered Mac and Cheese out at other places and have never had a problem. Has this happened to anyone else or why he might get sick after eating it from there??
Thanks

One of the little girls in my school brings the mac and cheese from Chili's once in a while for lunch. Her mom is a manager there, so when she sends it for lunch, it comes in the little plastic bag that it is shipped to Chili's in. It says Kraft Mac and Cheese on it, but maybe the milk product they use could be causing this reaction.

A restaurants foods have different ingredients then store bought boxed stuff. A lot of their things are frozen and are going to have varying ingredients so that they stay edible longer. I just wouldn't feed it to him anymore.

The serving portions are fairly large and he may be over induldging? Little kids tummies are pretty sensitive. I also wouldn't be supprised if they add alot more butter in their recipe than you do at home.

This happened to my daughter when she was about 22 mos. We never really figured out why, but she stopped eating it there for a long while. SHe is 6 now and she will occasionally order the mac and cheese at chili's with no problems. We always thaought she was eating it to fast. Maybe they put something extra in it???
Good luck!

It sounds like your little one is a big mac&cheese fan. I know how hard it is to get them to eat something different sometimes. Chili's may use a Kraft brand cheese, but I'm sure it's not the same as the little blue box we buy at the store. Call the Chili's manager and discuss it with him/her. (Just make it clear that you are not upset or talking law suite.) If you present it as concern over identifying a possible food allergy, they should be more helpful. Does his brother eat it too and not react this way? Well good luck identifying the problem.

I agree with the other Moms. Chilis does list their ingredients online. Compare this with the package at home to see what differences there are. Products created for Restaurants are not exactly the same as what we can buy in a grocery store.

It sounds reasonable to me. It is probably something they use in that specific formula. I am not allergic to pizza in general but I get sick every time I eat at Pizza Hut and it has been that way since I was a kid. The only think I can figure is that they use an ingredient or some combination of that my system just can't handle.

If he doesn't do this other times after he's eaten and then rides in the car, I just wouldn't give it to him again.

It could be an ingredient or brand that they use to make the mac and cheese at Chili's that the other places don't use. If he is alright with it everywhere else, order him something different when you go to Chili's.

Good Luck

tell them not to put the "extra" cheese on top. My kids did the same thing too.

1) Don't order mac n cheese from Chili's anymore.
2) Maybe he's eating too fast.

I have been to Chilis twice in my life and thrown up both times too--I just don't go to Chilis.

A few weeks ago, my daughter had some rich home-made mac and cheese and threw up from bouncing around afterward. So, it's possible that theirs is rich enough that the car ride makes it come back up.

I also agree with the advice to call the manager at a non-peak time to see if they can help you identify the ingredient that bothers your son. My son has food allergies and when we've had unexpected reactions, I've found managers to be extremely helpful to me when I've asked about ingredients. My son does react to certain types of butters and margarines and it took us awhile to pin point that, but managers showing me the ingredients and brand of their tub of butter sure helped us out! If your gut says it's more than rich food being too much for the car ride, I'd ask them some more questions so you can find commonalities if this happens again in a different scenario.
