My recipe calls for using Italian seasoned bread crumbs but unfortunately I don't have any. Rather than going to the store would it be ok to use corn flakes? Thanks

What can I do next?

It probably depends on the recipe, but I think crushed corn flakes would work just fine. Regular bread crumbs would be fine if you have those. If you want the Italian taste, add some Italian seasonings and a little Parmesean cheese.

My personal cooking rule is "If it tastes good you did it right". Try the corn flakes. If you like it great if not, lesson learned. And the most common spices in Italian seasonings are garlic salt, garlic powder, onion powder, basil, oregano, bay leaf and parsley.

You can either take some bread, put it in the food processor, then toast it in the oven or a skillet, or take the cornflakes, put them in a ziploc, and beat them to heck. It should work just fine. Maybe add a bit of oregano, or another italian seasoning if that seems important to the recipe.

Corn flakes will work just fine. If you want the Italian flavor or any other flavor you can add seasonings to the corn flakes.

Sure - just crush them up and add lots of garlic powder, oregeno and basil.

You can use cornflakes or you can even use pototoe chip crumbs or any kind of chips.
