There was a recipe for a gingerbread man on the back of an m&m package. I was going to make this with my kids and I can't find the package, I think it may have been thrown away by accident. Does anyone have this same package? And if so, I would sooooooo much appreciate it if someone could share it with me.Thank you so much!

I have it!! I bought the MM's for another recipe I make at Christmas.

Here it is:
Giant Gingerbread Boy

1 bag M&M's, red/green
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
2 t. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
3 2/3 c. flour
1 t. pumpkin pie spice
1/4 t. salt
1 c. vanilla frosting

Large sauce pot
Parchment paper or foil
Paring knife
2 cookie sheet pans
Resealable plastic bag
Printable template

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a large saucepan, bring the sugar and molasses to a boil. Remove from the heat and add the baking soda. Add shortening to the mixture , stirring until melted. Stir in the egg; add the flour, spice, and salt.
3. Transfer to a work surface and knead the dough until smooth. Divide the dough in half, and roll it out on parchment paper or foil that's large enough to fit the printable template (go to brightideas.com/christmas/family/f_1471_1.jsp to print template) Using the template as a guide, cut out one 8" cookie with a paring knife. Remove the scraps, leaving the cookie behind. Transfer the cookie to a cookie sheet pan and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffy. Make a second cookie with the remaining dough and scraps. Repeat.
4. Spoon the frosting into a resealable plastic bag; snip a corner and pipe an outline on each cookie, or use the frosting to attach M&M's.

Makes 2 cookies.

Hope this helps!!

Try www.brightideas.com It's the website right next to the recipe. I just bought a bag today that has a gingerbread recipe. I would be more that happy to send it to you, but try that website. It might be easier for both of us. lol Only because it's kinda long.

I'm not sure if this is the exact recipe but it came up when I did a search.
Gingerbread Cookies
2/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
2 tsp ground ginger
pinch salt
3/4 cup molasses
1 egg
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda

Cream together first 6 ingredients. Add egg and mix. Add molasses and mix again.

Mix together flour, baking powder and baking soda in a separate bowl. Sift. Add to the creamed mixture and stir until well blended. Chill 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 375 F. Roll out dough 1/4 at a time to 1/8" thickness or slightly thicker on a lightly floured board. Cut with a cookie cutter and transfer to a greased (or non stick) cookie sheet.

Repeat with remaining dough. Before baking, decorate with raisins as you like.

Place in oven for 8 - 10 minutes.

Cool on a wire rack

Decorate with icing, m&m's, chocolate chips or any other items you wish.
