Planning the Trip to Get the Puppy

I got a text from the people we are supposed to be getting our puppy from today. They would like a time frame to pick up the puppy (totally understandable). I have it figured it will take about 4 hours to get up there. (mapquest said 3 1/2 hours at max ) However I am planning on stops to go potty get a drink and the like. Is giving ourselves 30 mins for all of this good or should I allow more time. I would hate to tell them a time and then be early or late. I am a stickler on not being late for anything! But at the same time I dont want to show up early while someone is getting to know their puppy. Hand forhead! I should know this. But because someone asked me for a time instead of telling me a time, I am having a hard time!

What can I do next?

I would just say it will take us around 4 hours to get there. We will be leaving at 8AM so we should be there around noon or a bit after. That gives them a reference and you don't have to worry about being there at an exact time.

OK, they asked for a time FRAME, not an exact time...so just tell them between X and Y...because you are planning to leave at whatever time you plan to leave and you figure it's going to take about 4 hours to get there. There may not even be any other people picking up a pup that day. I've seen your other posts about this and IMHO, you are over-thinking this and stressing out about it WAY too much! Relax!

I had the same issue when we went to get our puppy in April. I just told her according to mapquest it should take X amount of time to get there and we are leaving at x time. It was fine. I even had her number is case something unexpected happened (like a flat tire etc).

Good Luck with the new puppy! What kind are you getting?

Whoa, you are definitely over thinking this! Just tell the person we are leaving at x time and it should take us about four hours to get there. That's all. Even if you had an appointment, everyone knows that travel time means possibly arriving slightly earlier or later, due to traffic or accidents, hence the use of the term time "frame."
