Pediatric Dentist - La Grange,IL

Looking for a dentist, either pediatric or a kid-friendly general dentist, hopefully in the near-west suburbs. We loved our last dentist, but our insurance recently changed to Delta Dental, the HMO version, and she does not accept that. Tried going on the website to find one, but you cannot search for type of dentist on the Delta website, only by location. Local would be good, but we are willing to travel a bit for a good one! We don't have any tooth problems, just want to find a good one. Thanks all!

** Edit: I do plan on calling the insurance company, but they don't know one dentist from another. I would rather get recommendations from others who have actually been to and liked a dentist.

What can I do next?

We are very happy with Glen Ellyn Pediatric Dentistry. They are fantastic with the kids! I'd suggest calling to see if they take your insurance.

Hi, I also have Delta Dental and recently shopped for a new pediatric dentist and a new optometrist. Have you tried Yelp? I first went on there to find great reviews on Dr.s in my area. When I found 2-3 that got great reviews, I then called both the doc's office, and asked if they take Delta, and then called DD to double-check that the Dr. was in-network. Worked out great both times! Just might be a good way to narrow the search a little closer to home. Good luck!

Go to your insurance's website and do a search for local family dentists. Then take 5 or so of them and search each name for reviews. Use Angieslist.com.

Dr. Monica at Sun Star Dental in River Forest is great! She has a good "bedside" manner with my daughter. She also lets parents into the room, which helps make my daughter feel comfortable during visits. I highly recommend her.

We have Delta Dental too and our whole family goes to Naperville Dental Specialists ( ndscare.com )in downtown Naperville. They're nice and the pediatric dentists are good with kids.

I've also heard great things about Grove Dental in Downers Grove. I'm not sure if they take Delta Dental, but if they do, they would be closer to you than Naperville

I would also say check with the insurance site but I think I might call and talk to them to get the information. Sometimes they are in the process of adding new doc's and have stopped working with others, etc...sometimes the nurse on the insurance site will have good insight too.
